Introduction
The Ronald McDonald Charity House (RMHC) represents an independent non-profit organization in the United States. Gerald Newman, who is the chief accounting officer at McDonald Corporation, was among founders of RMCH ("Ronald McDonald House Charities", 2018). Gerald Newman thus became the president of the Ronald McDonald Charity House where the organization operates under the board of trustees. Majorly, RHMC strives to keep families together and providing the vital medical care by utilizing a network of local chapters. The local chapters help millions of families having sick children to have the necessary support and comfort during the point of need. The core function of the RMHC is to provide stability to families across the world by providing the necessary support by offering resources. According to the RHMC, a family helping their child to fight the sickness creates a significant part of the emotional disturbance in the family. For this reason, adding the financial strain to the emotional disturbance is too much for the family to bear. RHMC thus provides support to the families by providing housing near the facilities where the child is hospitalized, supporting the expenses therein, and also supporting the basic medical care for the families in vulnerable communities. The Ronald McDonald Charity House operates under the mission to create, identify, and support all programs that aim at improving the health and quality of life among the children. Consequently, their vision is to create a world where all children get a chance to access the necessary medical care, and the families get the appropriate support significant in allowing them to actively participate in taking care of these children ("Ronald McDonald House Charities", 2018).
Ideally, Ronald McDonald Charity House operates globally in a network covering 64 countries and three primary programs including Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Family Room and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile ("Ronald McDonald House Charities", 2018). The Ronald McDonald House not only provides homes filled with help and support but also a home filled with hope. More often, when families seek treatment for their sick child, they sometimes have to travel far from home for a long period. For the children suffering from severe illnesses, the time away their homes is long enough even to divide a family. More importantly, it is scary for a severely ill child who fails to have the accompaniment of their parents to provide the necessary support and care that they need. For this reason, the Ronald McDonald House provides these families with a home so that they can participate in taking care of the ill child by staying close to there, loved at a low or even at no costs whatsoever. Currently, the organization holds up to three hundred and sixty-six Ronald McDonald's Charity Houses covering 42 of the 64 countries and region. Majorly, the Ronald McDonald Charity Houses provide care, shelter, and support for families with the hospitalized children below the age of 21 years or 18 years depending with the House therein. Approximately, the Ronald McDonald Charity Houses provide a total of 7, 200 bedrooms in one night for these families across the world. This service has an estimated value of 700 million dollars ("Ronald McDonald House Charities", 2018).
The Ronald McDonald Family Room provides the families with a hospitalized a child a place where they can rest near the vicinity of the child or somewhat within the hospital premises. The Ronald McDonald Family Room thus ensures that the families do not feel they are in hospital but at home even though they are a few meters from the sick child. The Ronald McDonald Family Room is usually a short distance from the pediatric or the Intensive care unit (ICU) where the child tends to be receiving medical attention. Currently, there are 237 Ronald McDonald's Family Rooms across 24 countries. The rooms often accommodate up to 3, 000 families every day especially for the families that do not need or met the criteria required to access the Ronald McDonald Charity Houses ("Ronald McDonald House Charities", 2018). The Ronald McDonald Family Rooms provides the families with a place to rest, take a nap, do laundry, and even cook.
The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile provides the avenue to access health care services in a time when the children need it most. Currently, there are fifty Ronald McDonald's Care Mobiles across nine countries. The mobile clinics provide health care services to the sick children within their neighbourhood at a zero cost for the families. Ideally, the Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles serve an estimate of 100, 000 and above children every year. Subsequently, the service saves these American families up to 10 million dollars' worth of medical and dental care ("Ronald McDonald House Charities", 2018).
Conclusion
In conclusion, the RMCH organization was established to develop programs that provide care and support for the families with ill children across the world. The organization believes that the child's illness creates enough emotional disturbance for the family, and thus they require extra support either financially or other support therein. In this case, the RMCH programs aimed at meeting the urgent needs of the community regarding sick children. Furthermore, the 2016 data shows that RMCH supports more than 5.5 million children and their families by reducing their medical burden therein.
