Introduction

I interviewed an experienced Nurse Practitioner who had worked as an oncology medical surgery nurse before. Even though she did not know a lot about the role of nurse practitioners, she still wanted to study and understand the duties of a provider in the healthcare sector. She explains that there is a possibility that one can change their interest in their area of specialization in the course of their education and career as a result of the exposure to multiple specialities. The interview depicts that learners should focus on the end result and work towards achieving their objectives to overcome challenges that arise when taking a DNP program. It is illustrated that one may feel unprepared when they join the real clinical practice, but they should take charge of the situation, and they will gradually adapt to the work-setting.

As in this case, the nurse that was interviewed worked at a family practice clinic and administered care to patients of all ages. Some of the significant points that are portrayed include ways through which nurse practitioners can handle the stressful moments in their career and how they can handle difficult patients or fellow workers. The interviewee focuses on the aspects of patience, teamwork and good leadership skills as an essential factor towards excellent performance in a nurse's work. Excellent communication skills are also a must-have nurse work as they will enable efficient service delivery and superb patient outcomes. Interview Reflection

The key takeaway that gained from the interview is the fact that working as a nurse practitioner requires the readiness to learn new insights and to develop the already existing abilities to enhance efficiency in work done. The nurse practitioner reveals that she attended conferences to gain more insights and to challenge herself to enhance her competencies. This aspect enables nurse practitioners to gain new essential skills that will better their performance their work and better their delivery of patient care.

I need more clarification on the role of a real provider. I need a more extensive explanation on the role of a real provider in the nursing field and some of the required specifications for one to become a real provider. The interviewer primarily focused her answers on the challenges faced by real providers in the clinical context. The nurse could have provided a clear explanation of some of the expectations that a real provider should meet and some of the skills that are considered in the field of real provision. Identifying these expectations will be essential to those with a lack of knowledge on the concept of the real provision in nursing.

The interview has equipped me with some of the necessary skills and traits that are required for one to be effective in their job as a nurse practitioner. I would like to focus on taking a DNP program and ensure that I have acquired all the requirements that are needed for one to become an excellent nurse practitioner. Afterwards, I would like to pursue a masters to enhance my skills so that I can be a fulltime real provider in the nursing context. To achieve my educational and career goals, I will have to sharpen my abilities and depict effectiveness in my clinical practice and fulfil any other requirement of an excellent nurse practitioner.

My career trajectory is still the same after the interview. I still have the stand of becoming a nurse practitioner for a better part of my life. Through the interview, I have been able to learn from all the experiences that were shared during the interview and am willing to experience the same in my career path. I love the nature of the job in general as it involves service to others by helping them to achieve the desired health outcomes. The job also has a wide array of areas that an individual can work in hence allowing workers to gain valuable exposure.

This interview has affirmed my choice to work as a nurse practitioner, and I am more confident about my career choice. I have learned that I can now perform some critical medical tasks without going to medical school, which is a lot more expensive as compared to a nurse practitioner school. I have become more enthusiastic about saving lives while being reimbursed with competitive wages. I have learned that I can become an independent licensed medical care provider after attaining a master or doctorate from a nurse practitioner school. Therefore, I intend to work towards studying hard and ensuring that I undergo all the needed practice and coursework to perfect my skills.
