Introduction
The lack of visions in organizations is one of the factors that result in failures. According to Zenger (2016), the presence of strategic vision leads to the growth of an organization as well as individuals. However, in the event, an organization fails to embrace this aspect; it results in a reduction in the sales levels and growth at large (Zenger, 2016). The presence of vision in an organization results in a smooth running of the activities. The visions assist in setting directions and communication in ways that connect and compel others in working together to attain the set goals.
Leading with Passion in Maintaining the Vision
Leading with passion is one of the elements that result in an enhancement of the vision of an organization. The maintenance of vision is made possible through enhancing the experiences of employees in the organization (Li, Zhang & Yang, 2017). Based on leadership research, there exists a trickle-down effect between leaders and employees. Therefore, the traits and attitudes of a leader have an impact on the maintenance of the vision of the organization.
Problems associated with being Nice
The problem of being kind is that it results in a deviation of the focus of the leaders (Goleman, Boyatzis & McKee, 2013). Thus this results in them being much concerned about individuals and valuing and respecting them. However, this aspect poses a threat in the operations of an organization in that it results in them shying away from confrontations (Goleman, Boyatzis & McKee, 2013). Thus, this makes leaders indulge in actions that result in downfall. The incorporation of empathy in leadership also results in uncorrected poor performances. The aspect, in turn, results in employees perceiving that the organization majors in tolerating mediocrity, which may not be the case (Goleman, Boyatzis & McKee, 2013). The element of being kind in an organization also results in employees being left out to operate in the manner that they perceive to be right because of the failures of the leaders in offering advice to them.
Effects of Prefrontal Cortex in making Decisions
The prefrontal cortex is depicted as the seat of attention in which all the feelings and preferences of an individual are monitored (Goleman, Boyatzis & McKee, 2013). In the prefrontal cortex, our values are represented based on what we like and our dislikes. The strength and direction of these emotions aid in determining the adoption of a decision.
The building of Goals on Strengths
Goals should be built on strengths based on the benefits that it results in both the employees and the company at large. The building of goals encourages the employees to perform well. The building of goals also enhances the relationship between managers and employees and provides a platform to motivate these individuals.
Learning Style
The element of learning is based on a combination of different modes. These modes comprise of reflection in which an individual gets to think about the possible experiences that can be encountered. The other model is the model building, which is based on the creation of a theory, and the final model is based on trial and error learning that incorporates trying out things through the use of new strategies (Goleman, Boyatzis & McKee, 2013). My learning style is based on the incorporation of instructions, which I tend to listen keenly to ensure that I engage in the activity as expected. In the integration of guidelines, I prefer being subjected under the verbal form of learning to ensure that I get to obtain all the information and note them down on a piece of paper for future references.
Importance of Mentors and Coaches
Mentors and coaches are essential in that they aid in the cultivation of unique relationships (Goleman, Boyatzis & McKee, 2013). The mentors, as well as coaches, help the individuals in their path of growth to enhance their success. These individuals are also influential in the discovering of dreams as they assist people in understanding the strengths that are present in them and the impact that one has over others (Goleman, Boyatzis & McKee, 2013). The mentors and coaches also act as a shield to an individual, especially in the cases where the work environments tend to be unfriendly. Thus they are useful in protecting an individual from the meddling hands (Goleman, Boyatzis & McKee, 2013).
Power of Relationships
Relationships inhibit power in that they aid in the growth of businesses as well as individuals (Herman, 2019). The increase is enhanced through communication from individuals in the same field who inhibit different ways of performing their tasks. However, handling the relationships may not be easy as it is based on friendliness with a purpose (Goleman, Boyatzis & McKee, 2013). For relationships to result in many impacts, they ought to be nurtured in a manner that drives individuals in the right direction. Relationships also aid organizations in the leveraging of their powers (Richards, 2017). The relations are also based on the level of honesty present when individuals communicate with one another.
