Introduction
The United Kingdom governing commonly known as the British or England government is a monarch state where the Queen is the head of state and the sovereign, the current queen is Queen Elizabeth the second (Michaud, 2019). Prime minister is the head of government and has executive powers to pass laws and command the military. The UK has a multi-party system of a political structure having two dominant parties since 1920, the Conservative Party and the Labor Party which has driven the politics of the UK (Michaud, 2019). Political party commanding the majority of seats chose's the prime minister who holds office for four years since the general election is held. The government has a responsibility of funding the Healthcare. Also, the country has a private healthcare plan that the citizens acquire through insurance.
Current Issues Related to the UK Health Care
The current issue affecting the UK government is low economic growth due to the exit of the European Union. The problem has directly impacted the healthcare providers sector because of the new custom charges and unlikely costs incurred in trading with the former partners. Other major issues on the deteriorating healthcare include market housing inequality, poverty among the working class hence experiencing stagnant real wage growth in the UK economy. The rising level of poverty has led to overdependence on the public medical cover (Mehta et al., 2019). The problem has led to increased overcrowding in the public healthcare sectors. Besides, greenhouse gas emissions are another issue that has effects on Britain's healthcare as a huge sum of funds are used to contain the situation. Without the increased emissions, the government would channel the funds to improve the healthcare sector.
Although they might have some challenges that lead to deterioration in the healthcare system, the government of the UK has put on place some measures to help curb the problem. Certain uncertainties caused by the Brexit which include investment decline and unlikely custom charges have been on negotiation and solution on the agreement of the type of free trade since the last general election in 2019 (Bowley, 2016). The government has tried to deal with the credit crisis causing an increase in UK debt levels, doubling the percentage GDP of the country. The attempts have increased the availability of funds that can be channeled to improve the declining healthcare sector (Mehta et al., 2019). On the same measure, constructive concerns regarding the reduction of poverty and the housing costs have been addressed by lowering the prices of houses. The strategies are effective in securing adequate funds to reshape the healthcare sector.
My critical comparison of the two economies; the UK and the US reveals that the former state has suffered on major healthcare issues as compared to the US . The suffering has resulted from the current political changes in the country. Brexit has been the major crisis hitting the economy of the UK; others include inequality in the housing market due to poverty and stagnant real wage growth. The emerging issues within the UK economy are challenging thus they require profound scrutiny. This may take some time to fix hence the country may not solve the challenges in the healthcare sector as soon as it may be required. US economy has minor challenges like difficulty in implementing healthcare for all in certain regions. However, the US government has managed to solve the challenges and minimized the escalation of health care issues.
