Introduction
Health care topics have been the current headlines news in the media of the United States. President Trump recently called for action in the state of the union to regulate drug prices and promised Americans to protect their health care. More so, Trump touched on the costly medical bills, which has been a trending topic for a while. The president also talked about pushing the transparency of the prices imposed by the health industry.
Moreover, Trump stated his central theme to be the provision of Medicare for all citizens (Kaiser Health News, 2020). Hence, he called for bipartisan legislation to enhance health care to achieve its objective of lowering the price of drugs. The bill will be soon be signed to law by the president after initiating the project of reducing medical costs. The bipartisan legislation program got invented by Chuck Grassley, who is the current chair of the finance senate who waited for the vocal support from the president (Kaiser Health News, 2020).
Furthermore, the proposal of reducing the healthcare bills and lowering the drug prices got backed by senator Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. The two senators stated that American healthcare would not be destroyed by socialism from a few people. However, some Democrats were not pleased with the proposal of the pricing bill of the drugs, whereby their responses were negative regarding the plan. Hence, the Democrats started chanting referring to "H.R.3," which was a reference to legislation drafted last year, consisting of Trump's agendas (Kaiser Health News, 2020). Moreover, they pointed out some other health-related issues like which party has the mandated of American care protection.
Improvement of the health care system in the United States requires active pursuit regarding the experience of care and reduction of cost for all Americans. Thus, as a leader, the main focus entails upgrading the health care systems and provision of appropriate treatment to all Americans. Health care involves a complex system that requires the creation of a general vision to enhance its effectiveness. Thus, providing adequate space for any natural creativity emergence. More so, the use of Health Information Technology (HIT) facilitates to improve the health care to all Americans (Bachynsky, 2019). The technology helps in measuring the safety of the patient's inappropriate time, which helps to prevent deaths as a result of medical error. In the health care sector, leaders should be able to learn from past failures. Thus, enabling them to create and innovate appropriate systems to improve the quality of health care (Cosgrove et al., 2013).
Implementation of the Triple Aim program is efficient in improving health care. Triple Aim ensures the reduction of health costs by reducing the prices of drugs and hospital bills, which has affected the health sector of the United States. Thus, as a health leader, the use of the Triple Aim project is necessary to facilitate the achievement of improving health care. The concept helps reform the health by incorporating significant components that are consisting of the following; Redesigning of primary care structures and services improving the health care for each American. Also, management of population health through focusing families and individuals for quality provision of health. Integration of systems and executing them to ensure cost control within the health sector (Cosgrove, Fisher, Gabow, Gottlieb, Halvorson, James, & Toussaint, 2013).
As a leader, it essential to set specific goals and targets in the health sector. Thus, triggering innovation mindset to identify what is or not working to improve health care. The strategy of setting targets starts from the leaders down to clinical officers to ensure a collective involvement in improving 2the health care. The formation of the integrator program is also crucial as it enables individuals from different health organizations to present alarming issues in their institutions. Hence, allowing the group to solve the challenges affecting the health sector and coming up with strategies to improve it. Appropriate governance and leadership are significant to enhance the group to be effective in achieving its goals (Sikka, Morath, & Leape, 2015).
Elevating the implementation of health organizations through the provision of patient-engaged care as a leader is essential. Personal patient care gets associated with lower costs of health care. Moreover, patient-centered communication ensures faster recovery, better care, and low prices. The centered care minimizes the health services, which leads to lesser charges of the services rendered annually. Also, the attention ensures the patients are fully informed about their illness, enabling them to choose less costly and aggressive procedures for treatment.
Ensuring a legit and transparent competition among the health organization is necessary to regulate the cost of health. Thus, giving multiple opportunities for businesses to compete effectively, reducing the expenses of health care processes. Moreover, the competition will reduce the pressure on the health care budget funded for the public. Furthermore, ensuring that all health care centers are legit and function under the set laws of providing proper health care to all Americans at relatively low prices (Cosgrove et al., 2013). As a leader in the health sector, introducing as many as possible not-for-profit hospitals is crucial to enhance low expenses for medication. The hospitals we help to prevent the health care delivery crisis, which has been evident in past years in the country. Therefore, creating more resources to assist in covering the underinsured and uninsured Americans and providing proper care at low costs.
