Nevertheless, the practitioners in this field usually deal with aspects such as evaluation, analyzing, developing and designing better drugs in the health industry. Unlike in the past where people were using drugs from the trees without knowing the chemical reaction that such drugs may have in their bodies, introduction of Pharmaceutical chemistry helped to determine chemical components in a drug its effectiveness in treating a certain deceased and also the possible side effect that it might have in the body of the user. This essay analyzes the description of natural-product and analytical chemists, qualification for this career, academic requirements, experiments performed and potential projects.

Specific Job Description

Analytical chemist in natural products is a branch of Pharmaceutical chemistry that specializes in the production of drugs from natural products. The main activity of the specialist in this area is to identify, analyze and determine natural resources such as plants which contain active compounds that can be used to make drugs to treat certain diseases. As such, the professionals in this area usually deal with finding new and more effective drugs that can be used to treat the already existing diseases or emerging diseases (Chemistry Explained, 2017). After determining the active component in certain natural resources, they will analyze it to determine its chemical reactions and how well it can be used to cure a particular disease.

Potential Projects

Potential project in this field of Pharmaceutical chemistry is finding drugs for the present diseases with no cure and also finding a treatment for new infections in the health service field. The health service usually relies on a specialist in this area to find new or more effective cures to treat certain diseases. In the world today, various diseases have been a significant challenge in the health center. An example of such condition is HIV/AIDS which has been existent for a substantial period without any possible cure up to date. However, there is a progress in finding a solution for this disease where Pharmaceutical chemistry practitioners have found ARVs which are used to boost immune among the patients with such disorders. Other conditions that have been a challenge in the world today include cancer and diabetes among others (Vogelsong, Cullen, 48). Since specialists in this field deal with the production of drugs from natural resources, potential projects may include finding better solutions for the present diseases with no cure as well as providing drugs with fewer side effects where available drugs have a lot of adverse side effects such as addiction.

Experiment Performed

The work of analytical chemists usually involves a lot of experimentation. As described above, the work of the work of a specialist in this area is to come up with more effective drugs that can be used to cure a specific disease. After discovering that there is an active compound in a particular plant, the test of the chemical reaction of the identified active compound from a plant will be required. To determine it, a practical test will be required. The practical usually start by extracting the germs or virus causing a specific disease then adding the active compound derived from trees to determine its possibility in fighting a particular disease. If the active compound is proved to fight these germs or virus, a test will first be done by use of animals or computerized analysis before it can be tested with a real human being (Vogelson, Cullen, 48). However, various experiments may be required before the most effective drug for a specific disease is attained. This implies that an analytical chemist specialist is usually involved in many experimentations.

Academic Requirement

The very least educational element that one can have to get a career in any field of Pharmaceutical chemistry is a bachelor's degree. However, for an individual to become a specialist in natural-products and analytical chemist, one should have a one must have a doctorate or masters. Though there are so many institutions that offer Pharmaceutical chemistry programs, the specialization such as the one of analytical chemist can only be attained through higher education (Grocery for Careers, 2019). However, earning an undergraduate degree in Pharmaceutical chemistry is the first step of specializing in analytical chemists.

Qualification for a Career in the Field

Qualification of a job in natural-product and analytical scientist requirement include having a doctorate or a masters in this area. However, in some cases, the description of the ability to conduct medical experiments in this field might also be required (Chemistry Explained, 2017). Nevertheless, people with an undergraduate degree in the field of Pharmaceutical chemistry can attain a junior career in the field of natural-products and analytical chemists.

Pharmaceutical chemistry is a discipline that deals with the production of drugs and ensuring that there is safety in drugs use. Nevertheless, the field of Pharmaceutical chemistry has a variety of specialization such as natural-product and analytical chemists. This branch deals with the production of new drugs from natural resources from trees. As such, potential projects in this area might include finding solutions for diseases with no cure or cure for emerging diseases. Experiments to determine the effectiveness of a drug and are common in this field. Academic required include a doctorate of a master's degree in the area. Nevertheless, educational requirement and the ability to conduct experiments in this field may be necessary for one to get a career in this field.
