Introduction
Pathophysiology is a branch of science that major in the study of the human central nervous system. The main aim of pathophysiology is to establish wherein the central nervous system antigens are deposited and their influence on physiological processes and, ultimately, how it causes homeostasis imbalance. The key areas of concern in pathophysiology are ethology that involves the study of disease development and how it affects organ tissue (Boothe et al., 2017)
Pathogenesis, on the other side, deals with disease-causing organisms' mode of invading cells in which physiological processes are controlled and develop a strong resistance to pathogens. The two are closely related because they deal with disease development. Diagnosis is the process of establishing a disease-causing organism or abnormal condition in the internal environment and how it causes homeostasis imbalance in an organism. Identifying disorder of any kind in an organ or tissue is essential because it paved the way for how to deal with the disorder in time and curb any adverse effect which may arise from it (Boothe et al., 2017).
Relationship between Homoeostasis and Cellular Functions
Homeostasis and cellular function are components of body function, which are closely related. To have a sound knowledge of homeostasis, it is essential first to have a deeper understanding of cell physiology or cellular functions. Homeostasis is the body's ability to control the inner environment in its optimum conditions to ensure that it responds to the internal and external changes due to metabolic and physiological processes (Zeki et al., 2020).
Body organs such as the kidney, liver, and pancreas operate to maintain homeostasis. To be precise and clear on such a relationship, it is essential to focus on kidney nephron. This component is responsible for controlling the level of salt and water in the blood. Since water is charged with the role of maintaining potential osmotic cells which in turn enhances the effectiveness of other physiological activities, it, therefore, means that internal and external conditions that form homeostasis are under the control of cellular functions of a body or particular organs.
Maintenance of Homeostasis by a Feedback
Body organs operate within a wider range. The body should, therefore, struggle to maintain that range by appropriately responding to the fluctuating environmental factors such as atmospheric pressure and temperature. The response can be negative or positive, depending on the fluctuations considering the skin to explain negative feedback. It is observed that change in temperature is detected by skin receptors, which in turn relay the information to the brain, which interprets and relays an impulse to the affectors that finally regulate body temperature using the structural adaptation of the skin (Zeki et al., 2020).
It clearly shows that such kind of mechanism uses a product of the body's reaction to minimize the activity of the process which would have exceeded the normal range within which a body function normally. Complications or diseases are as a result of the inability of a physiological function that leads to unexpected symptoms—a good example of complications that result due to the lack of appropriate feedback loops in heart failure. The capacity of the heart to relax and contract entirely depends on physiological activities controlled by the osmotic potential of blood cells.
If the body cannot respond to cause order or maintain the narrow range of optimum functioning, then the heart automatically fails. It is a common phenomenon in the aged because of reduced cellular functioning. Another good example is kidney failure, which is due to the accumulation of toxic substances in the system. Suppose the liver fails to dominate toxic materials and render them harmless, then their accumulation may raise or lower the PH of the environment beyond the optimum level, causing complications (Zeki et al., 2020).
Nursing as an occupation is so much demanding in terms of commitment and passion. Disease diagnosis and treatment are key aspects and touches human life directly. The establishment of the cause and nature of disease should be of great concern to everyone concerned or charged with the responsibility of rescuing human life. Treatment of a disease is not radical as one may think but rather a gradual process that requires close monitoring and keen observation within a given time frame.
Conclusion
Since the disease is considered to be interrupted homeostasis, disease cure is all about restoring normal homeostasis, which also involved creating a balanced physiological process. These processes may not be easy to restore and maintain at a time. That is why nursing calls for patience and endurance and particularly when dealing with a disease. Progress of a patient matters because it tells more about the internal processes and feedback loops being encountered by the patient.
