Eliopoulos, C. (2015). Fast facts for the long-term care nurse: What nursing home and assisted living nurses need to know in a nutshell (Fast facts). New York: Springer Publishing Company. (2015).

The article by Eliopoulos has significantly guided me from the beginning of the CA doc to the middle in a variety of ways. For instance, through the article, I have understood that various healthcare professionals and nursing students receive most of their experience in the clinical sector from acute care settings (Eliopoulos, 2015). I have also so far learned the main differences between acute care and long-term care.

For example, I have so far learned that acute care involves the treatment of urgent injury conditions and illnesses. However, long-term care, on the other hand, offers the treatment of some stable healthcare conditions such as maintenance and improvement of the emotional and physical well-being (Eliopoulos, 2015). I also learned that a holistic approach is a critical concept in the healthcare provision since it recognizes the complex combination of an individual's emotional, physical, and mental components.

Unlike the article by Eliopoulos that enables us to learn how various healthcare professionals receive their experiences, this article helped me appreciate and understand the different gaps that exist in the field of nursing (Zhang et al., 2013). For instance, I have so far learned from the article that there is an increasing demand for nursing homes due to several factors such as the family life expectancy as well as the availability of some long term care options.

I have also so far appreciated the need for nurse staffing regulations in various nursing homes, taking into cognizance the sizes of such healthcare facilities and nursing homes (Powers, 2003). The article has also enabled me to appreciate the various realities of nursing homes and their roles in the provision of quality and competent nursing services, mainly in the long-term healthcare settings (Zhang et al., 2013).

Trinkoff, A. M., Johantgen, M., Muntaner, C., & Le, R. (2005). Staffing and Worker Injury in Nursing Homes. American Journal of Public Health, 95(7), 1220-1225.

This article has enabled me to understand that there is a significant relationship between the level of staffing in nursing homes and the rates of worker injury (Trinkoff et al., 2005). I have appreciated the fact that the reduction in the staffing level of any health care facility results in work pressure for the few nursing professionals within the health care facility, thus exposing them to the likelihood of injuries in the workplace (Miller et al., 2012).

Again, from the beginning of CA to the end, this article has made me acknowledge that the level of staffing also has essential impacts on the health of the workers. In this light, it is imperative that adequate resources and facilities ought to be put in place to enhance the level of staffing in nursing homes.

Therefore, all the three sources have been essential in learning the various concepts within the nursing professionals ranging from staffing of the nurses and its influence on the workers' injury, the origins of experience for the nurses as well as the possible gaps that are often witnessed within the nursing homes (Trinkoff et al., 2005).
