Introduction

Adult immunization is essential for general public health, especially in the states with a high population of older adults. Prevention of diseases which are prone to adults such as pneumonia, flu and herpes zoster should be taken into consideration (Barrett, 2016). However, the prevention of these diseases against their spread is improved through the use of vaccines. Furthermore, the probability of ensuring there is enhanced health for adults Can be achieved through covering a large population of the aged people through immunization strategies. Therefore cooperation between different stakeholders in the health services is the key. Adults need to be immunized, as some may not have gone through immunization when they were very young. At their old age, new vaccines and immunity boosters have been manufactured hence the need to vaccinate the adults.

Over the years, the population of the adults more so the old folks have been meagre despite the endless care they are given. Therefore nurses have a significant role to play in the immunization of the adults in the society. For instance, nurses need collaborative improvement in their services in healthcare (Wright, 2017). Nurses need to work together as a team in the identification of the essential ways of enhancing immunization levels for weak patients.

Furthermore, nurses play an essential role, especially in making records and giving information on pneumococcal features. They also carry out experiments to check if they are getting the quality routine standards required. Nurses also have the mandate to vaccinate the adults without the need for investigation or command from the physician through the enactment of the standing orders and adults immunizations (Barrett, 2016). Adult vaccinations not frequently injected to the patients, who were at high risk of infection in the departments. Nurses offered training on vaccine scrutiny, injection, preservation and handling to the health practitioners and the caregivers. Nurses, in conjunction with their marketing section, uses social media in enlightening people the significance of vaccination more so the adults in the society.

Impact of Immunization

Aged adults need to be immunized against several diseases since they are greatly affected by contagious diseases that have led to high demands for the healthcare capital (Wright, 2017). In most cases it quite unfortunate for the older people, more so those that are suffering from heart diseases are at a great extent of getting infected. However, many vaccines used by adults are pneumonia, influenza and zoster vaccines that are of great importance to the older people.

Adults need MMR vaccine for measles, mumps and rubella diseases which are highly infectious. For instance, measles is known for fever, running nose and rashes (Kaaijk et al., 2019). The disorders mainly affect the lungs and throat, therefore, making someone to experience significant problems in breathing. Measles infection is primarily controlled through the help of vaccination in the US. Mumps also has symptoms of fever, tiredness and severe pain in the muscles and the inflammation of the salivary glands. In harsh conditions, it can lead to numbness and other critical illness. However, vaccination of the MMR vaccine is used to curb the spread of disease since its outbreaks are still experienced in the United States, though at meagre rates. Rubella disease is also a contagious disease that affects adults more so pregnant mothers. If not controlled, it can cause severe childhood disorders such as liver problems and spleen damages to infant babies.
