'Redefining learning in a Technology-driven World' article has its premises that The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) has developed the third iteration of Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) to empower student learning. This article wanted the reader to understand that ISTE Standards for Students have a unique technological aspiration to empower student learnings, embolden their social and emotional skills, and mend computational thinking as cited in Moore (2016).
This article points out that ISTE Standards for Students offers an espousal framework across the grades of all specialty disciplines serving as an underpinning for all what is feasible in learning using technology. "ISTE wholeheartedly agrees, and the aspirational vision of the ISTE Standards for Students supports a new vision for what technology can and should do to transform teaching and learning" (ISTE Standards 2016, p. 12). Besides, this article points out that the ISTE supports learners in ethically and responsibly curating, sourcing, and finding resources with the utilization of advanced technology.
Indeed, this article has made me realize the efforts which ISTE Standards for Students are endeavoring to espouse student's learning by applying advanced technology. I have read that ISTE highlights that technology can amplify learning by emphasizing re-visioned pedagogy to attain the aptitude of technology, transform and hone education drastically. ISTE Standards implements frameworks such as Ruben Puentedura's SAMR model, which avers that application of advanced technology in education can redefine, modify, intensify, and substitute learning bustles (Bajabaa, 2017).
