Introduction
Education is a right for every child. However, in the current society, there are varieties of ways that a student can get an education. Due to the existence of many learning platforms, parents and guardians find themselves in a dilemma as they strive to choose the best option for their children. I highly propose that parents should embrace charter schools, and this is from a consumer stand. Charter schools are those that are funded publicly and have the same standards of education as local public high schools. However, they differ from the public schools in some ways hence making them more favorable to both a parent and the student.
Charter Schools
First, charter schools are flexible. They are not bound by one curriculum, and they vary in what they teach the students and how they teach (Holley, 2015). The instructors use more innovative teaching techniques that are not common in local public schools. This is important because it allows the student to learn using different methods. Moreover, it offers the parent an opportunity to expound on the students’ abilities with the different curriculums offered. The level of involvement of a parent in a charter school is high (Holley, 2015). Consequently, the student gains from the involvement as the parent give a wider scope of the expected outcome of the student hence steering more progress.
Also, in charter schools, we have a reduced number of students. This is an advantage because the teachers can have more time with the students hence facilitating better learning environments for all students (Holley, 2015). The teachers can equalize the students despite different abilities. Another benefit of chartered school is the specialization opportunity given to the student. A student can specialize in his or her interests by only attending classes that are in line with those interests (Holley, 2015). These results into a student who has rich knowledge on the field of study he or she wishes to pursue in college or as a career.
Conclusion
To conclude, from a consumer point of view, parents should highly consider this form of learning as it gives both them and the child endless opportunities to make learning an exciting and fulfilling journey.it has many other advantages attached to it such as diversity of student population, accountability of the school and independence of students.
