Introduction

Do people believe miracles happen or think that it is just meant to happen? If most people question that miracles exist, then why bother asking the question? What would the world need then? These are the questions that run in many people's minds, and this could be because they are all wondering whether miracles have any significance in this world. Are miracles applicable especially in the modern world? It is something I would like to look into further and gather more information to answer these various questions. Personally, I believe that miracles only existed in the ancient world. They were also prevalent especially in the time of Jesus where the Bible even explains the many miracles he performed. The current world has exaggerated the issue of miracles, and nowadays pastors, spiritual persons, priests and other religious officials are explaining more about the subject of a miracle.

How can one perform a miracle especially in this current world? This question is a complicated one but straightforward which arises from the fact that miracles exist in some people's lives while do not exist in some other people's lives. Hence, a miracle in the modern life can be described as the occurrence of something extraordinary to a person's life. Is winning a lottery considered as a miracle? Is it a miracle for a barren woman to conceive a child? Is growing from poverty to riches a miracle? These are the questions that make many people to be confused about the issue of miracles. According to me, the occurrence of miracles is quite often, especially to the believers. For instance, a person may pray and believe that something good is going to happen to them and eventually it happens. Is this a miracle or not? It is a miracle based on the beliefs the particular person had. Hence, miracles are known to exist only amongst those people who believe that they are true and not the ones who do not believe in them.

If I get sick from a very critical disease and be healed, will that be considered as a miracle? That I think only depends on my religious stand. Am I a staunch Christian who believes in miracles? Do miracles only occur to the poor, sick or the righteous? These are important segments that I am going to discuss further. Therefore, the significant questions under discussion are whether miracles happen, to who or why they happen, how many people believe in their existence and finally what evidence, either literature or life events, that shows they exist.

Do miracles happen? From my life experiences, I have encountered some people who claim that miracles happened to them. Some of these people argue that they were ailing from cancer and after praying actively and believing in God, their prayers were answered and they are now living free from cancer. It is a critical encounter that proves that somehow miracles do happen. Do they happen more often or once in a while? I tend to believe that miracles are not an everyday event and hence for one to happen, it must be after a long time. This fact thus enables some people even to doubt their existence anyway because they are not so sure how often they happen while others are not even certain that anything of that sort happens.

Secondly, to whom do miracles happen? Why do they happen to these specific people? At this point, I disagree that miracles do not have an actual category of people to which they happen to. I think they happen randomly and this, therefore, cannot give a closing perspective that miracles happen to several people. Last year I was able to research the issue of why miracles happen. To my expectations, I was able to gather some evidence aspects that explained why miracles happen. Some of these included for the fact that nature has its way of proving some occurrences and hence it does this through the aspect of miracles. Another prospect is that some people may have false beliefs that miracles happen and therefore this may have a direct impact which shows why they occur anyway.

Thirdly, approximately how many people believe in the existence of miracles? And if they do, what are their reasons? It is a concern which is of great importance to me because I would also want to know how many people believe in the existence of miracles. I think that miracles happen just as they did from the Bible stories. I am a staunch Christian who believes in the holy gospel, and this has influenced me to think that miracles do exist. At this point, many people begin to doubt the existence of miracles because maybe they have never encountered any themselves or ever met a person who has faced a miracle. Hence, many people are left with the belief that miracles are just a non-existing thing that most people pretend to know more about.

Finally, what evidence, may it be literature, theories or life events, shows that miracles do exist? Personally, I have read so many books whose stories are based on a miracle, and this contributes to the belief that they exist. Additionally, I have also encountered some movies whose story depicts some miracles, and hence I believe they exist. Some people, however, start to disagree at this point because they have never seen these pieces of evidence. Consequently, all they have left is nothing but the perception that miracles only exists in some parts of the world. Is this true or false? Again I am not sure because I have not come across any statistical books which show how many miracles there have been in the world. It is therefore evident that miracles may only be a perception that people carry along to their minds.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I have gathered that most people are not sure whether miracles do happen or not because some have some reasons why they think they exist while others have the exact opposite ideas. Therefore, I do not see the need why this should be a universal concern because there is not sufficient evidence to show the statistics of how miracles have been happening. It, therefore, shows that it is no longer a universal concern of whether miracles occur, who or why they happen, what evidence there is to prove they happen and how many people believe that they happen. All these questions conclude that the existence of miracles is still questionable and for it to become an issue of concern, more evidence needs to be produced to support it. Thus, if most people question that miracles exist, then why bother asking the question?
