Introduction
Emergency medical services get noted as a comprehensive network of equipment, personnel and the resources that are established to provide support and emergency medical care to a particular community. EMS normally comprise of the pre-hospital care activities that involve personnel, procedures, equipment systems, and the community programs. The emergency medical services focus on initial treatment, rapid responses and provision of patient's safe transport to the acute hospital care facility. The paper will explore the history of EMS within my community (Hinesville) and how it has adopted changes over the last several decades.
Beginnings of EMS in Hinesville and Discuss How It Has Grown
In Georgia, emergency medical service is over 30 years old. It has significantly developed in the past 30 years, and such development has been spread to most of the communities. In particular, my community Hinesville has shown constant development of EMS since it was adopted. Many professions have emerged in Hinesville and played a better role in furthering Emergency medical services as a medical discipline. There has been the constant development of EMS in my community. The development of EMS in Hinesville is seen regarding patients attendance. In the past few years, the professionals of EMS in Hinesville did not start patient care until arrival at the hospital. EMS in Hinesville has increasingly grown in that that there is the good attendance of the sick or injured before they arrive at the hospital.
The Current EMS System Today
The EMS system of Hinesville is currently operative at an advanced level. It recognizes that having a focus on quality that has the flexibility to adapt to the local operating conditions and having customer services orientations are some their key to success. EMS in my community is becoming information-driven and increasingly complex. The federal policies governing EMS in Hinesville has also been improved. In the past years, it was possible to get certain kinds of information from federal sources.
Who Provides the EMS Service, and Is It Efficient?
The EMS service in my community is provided by professional selected by the GDPH (Georgia Division of Public Health). GDPH is a lead agency that is entrusted by people of Georgia State with the responsibility to ensuring proper health of the communities. The objective of the agency is to ensure a community with healthy people and families in which all the sectors get united through pooling their strengths and assets to promote proper health for all. The agency brings a commitment to all people of Hinesville community to improve health status using a community leadership, assurance of a safe environment and expertise in surveillance and health information.
Immediate Challenges Faced by Ems as We Move Into Community-Based EMS With the Advent of the Affordable Health Care Act?
The providers of emergency medical services in Hinesville appear to be undergoing some challenges as they administer their services. Transportation challenge is among the main challenges. The providers of EMS in Hinesville reported that they face challenges as they drive through some parts of towns in Hinesville. Some towns proved difficult to make through them. Also, the emergency assistance faces some challenges as they administer various services. Regardless of the proper delivery method that has been adopted by the agency, the emergencies assistance are still faced with the challenge of an automobile collision, heart attack, and other daily emergencies. There is also the need for the emergency medical service to respond to the terrorist attack and other crisis like natural disasters.
