Introduction
Ear pain is a global documented problem which results due to the compilation of various diseases. Ear pains can clear up without medical examination, but most often, there is a need to see a doctor for the fact that most ear pains are severe and may affect individual throughout the lifetime. Earaches affect not only children but also adults hence intertwined with objective and subjective data which illicit the complexities and characteristics of the diseases. Ear pain can affect both ears but mostly, the effect is attributed to one ear, and for the case study it is the left ear. Most ear infection results from temporary hear loss, fever, and diseases such as measles, polio, chickenpox, and allergies. Necessarily, the radiology of an earache involves the juxtaposition of cranial nerves and the related diseases that cause the problem.
Recent advancement in technology provides a solution to the diagnosis of the problem. The radiologists employ medical tests such as Computed Tomography (CT) and MR imaging which captures the internal appearance of cranial nerves and how they are affected (Lambru, Miller, & Matharu, 2013). For instance, problems related to the throat, neck area and head may be connected to the causes of a ruptured eardrum. This means, the pictures perforate or showcase how the inner and the outer ear is separated. The raptured ear has a hole which to patients is very painful. It can lead to chronic ear pain which is related to conditions including buzzing in the ear or a ringing ear. Other effects incorporate the breasts, skin, cardiac and different respiratory dispensations. Otolaryngologists treat these conditions with multiple views before uncovering a prior cause of an earache. Examination of the problem entails a review of the patient-doctor interview to understand the history of the patient's diseases which may be relevant to the causes of ear problem.
According to Lambru, Miller, and Matharu (2013), questions that may be presented to patients include; history of dental diseases, smoking experience if any, use of liquor and other related symptoms that palpate to peripheral Vascular, abdomen, neurologic, hematologic, and the anterior thorax. The evaluation will help in the diagnosis of an earache before the condition worsens. Fundamental stages in medical management begin from the cleaning of the canal to remove the wax that leads to the blockage of the ear. Treatment of the infected skin follows which includes the predisposition of the inflammation parts. This helps to control pain by the application of analgesics and non-steroidal drugs. An important measure to ensure the success of the diagnosis is preventing water from entering the ear and ceasing using instruments such as earphones. The last step is following up for medical examination to obliterate the bacteria or fungal infection.
Conclusion
Treatment of an earache should be topical for the fact that, it would address all challenges that are related to external and internal parts of the ear. For instance, acidifying solutions will ensure that the external environments of the ear are unsuitable for bacteria growth hence assisting in curbing such effects. Similarly, use of antibiotics will reduce the inflammations and pain which is associated with respiratory infection and allergic rhinitis which results to barotrauma effects. Regular evaluation and examination will assist patients to avoid problems that occur due to an earache hence affecting the health conditions of patients in the more extended periods. Finally, patients have to reveal reasonable effects on the medical management for the requirements to ascertain the complete diagnosis.
