Nursing practice relies on evidence that is reliable, and thus there are the equipped practitioners who are skilled in challenging the existing nursing practices. Therefore so as to maintain and improving the health care service, the health professionals require strong evidence so as to allow patients taking part in the clinical trials to be treated. The work of the critique research is to ensure the patient's safety.
The clinical trials are to determine if the new treatment is effective and if it could be embraced and be used in the health care. Hence, it is essential for the nurses to be able to review the published evidence critically, thus there is a need for the nurses to understand the evidence published. Research nurses have responsibilities that vary from clinical specialties, the academic institution and trust as per Bowrey S Thompsons JP (2014).The clinical trial provided a great insight into effective clinical strategies in future. The evidence presented in research shows that the information of the research approached the qualitative data analysis this was by analyzation of data and the method used to code. This helps one to understand the role of my profession in the nursing profession, this is by better supervision of an of the clinical trials to be criticized before they are administered to the patients. The researcher also defines the gap that is the theory part in nursing and the practical trials thus, there is the need for a professional nurse to use his or her knowledge to be able to conclude if the trial medication is to be administered to the patients. Thus, the research resulted in the need of following the right procedure before allowing the trial medicine to be used.
The ethical issues that rose during the research due to lack of ethical aspects in the health research can result in a belief that it would unlikely to harm the participant, this is if the trial would fail the nurse reputation will be spoiled. There can be a miss interpretation of the data during the research by giving the participants the feedback of the analysis before the findings are published. The confidentiality of the analysis is another issue that rose during the research, whereby the collectively large amount of detailed information is to be shared .this is because there are barriers that are against concealing of information.
The research that was carried out the is the peer research, in this research, there is an evaluation between the clinical teachings skill for all the nursing areas. There are different types of nursing researches that could be used instead of the peer-research, a number or research that could have been used are such as descriptive research and the qualitative research among others. The Descriptive research refers to an analysis that is based on the non-experimental research that is designed to discover new meanings and knowledge where little is known about the phenomena of interest. This kind of research aims to answer the why' and what' questions that are current on some systems. Qualitative research is based on the study of the human experience of health, and this could be applied during this research since it is a central concern in the nursing science. This method allows a wider and deeper understanding of the complex human behavior status can be obtained during the survey
The administrators set the staffing level which is affected by forces that include the nurse labor market and the budgetary consideration, the administrators, also practice result in a structure in its staffs. This result to a nature of supervision of the staffs, as a result, each nurse knows his/her shift, and the time assigned to that shift. This supervision affects the nurses' workforce in the agency since each since each there is a model of assigning each staff and the model of providing care to the patients. Therefore, the communication and the collaboration thus affecting the quality of nursing care and the quantity of nursing time in the agency. The other evidence of care is when the category of the care needed this includes the complexity of the patient's health status , hence the patience functional status and family needs/resources is observed, therefore, the health status of each patient varies from changes over the course of the patients stay in the hospital.
The quality of the nursing care is related to the appropriate assessment execution to prevent adverse events and the intended optimize patient outcome. This can be observed whereby when the nurses access the risk of the medicine to the hospital before administering the medicine this is by following the correct protocol. Therefore, the quality of the work differs with each nurse in the agency, this is the difference in knowledge and the experience of each nurse, and there are human maters such as the fatigue of nurses thus difference in the quality provided by different nurses with difference standards.
According to Author who used sampling technique in nursing workload research, states that sampling is a technique, which is frequently used by the managers and researchers in exploring and measuring the nursing activity in the organization. The author used the method integrated review design in collecting data and use of the electronic database. The research will help when criticizing the medical trials thus it may be a source of new information to the nurse to judge if he/she can go on and administer the trial medicine to the patient.
Rempusheski VF, Wolfe BE, and Dow KH, Fish LC (2007): Peer review by nursing research committees in the hospital.
The author states that according to the increasing nursing research, which is conducted, this has led to great scrutiny. According to the author, it is because of the value of the peer review done by the nursing research committee. The author states that the current paradigm in the nursing research committee is causing by the reviewers with knowledge, with higher and advanced nursing and with an intra-and interdisciplinary scientific thus the authors suggest that the nursing research committee should use the eight strategies that will support the nursing research committee as the review bodies of science merit recommends. This suggests that the mistakes done by the nurses during the review can be minimized when the reviewing is done.
Lindquist RD, Tracy MF, and Treat-Jacobson D, (2017): Peer review of nursing research proposals
The article speaks about how the grant reviews process, which operationalizes the peer review for the selection of the research, grants, and the approval of a review. The authors describe the process of grant review and the role of the reviewer during the review sessions, and the present conditions that allow the evaluation of the proposal and how to prepare a written critique by the reviewer. In this article, a nurse can be able to understand the right procedure during a review process and understand the importance of the grant review process.
George, Vicki Haag-Heitman, Barb, (2011) Nursing peer review: The manager's role
The authors explain the duties of a nurse manager during the nursing peer review, the performance evaluation, and a better clarification of ownership. The author suggests peer review is the missing element for a sustainable quality and a safety nursing outcome, thus peer review of nurses helps in the evaluation of the nurses annual performance. This is a way to improve the managerial skills of a manager and enable a better development of the clinical performance of the agency.
BUUS, N; AGDAL, R. (2017): Can the use of reporting guidelines in peer-review damage the quality and contribution of qualitative health care research?
The authors speak about the impact of the quality and the contribution of the qualitative research that is caused by the use of reporting guidelines in a peer research. Through a peer review research, the authors identify a number of trends in the scientific nursing journal. Thus the complexity of evaluating qualitative studies is explored hence the author suggests that the peer review has significances as an integral part of the health care research. This suggests that the peer review has an impact in the health care research.
Gomez N. (2017) Nephrology Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice: Integration into Clinical Practice
Gomez defines the scope of nephrology nursing practice, the professional performance and the standard of practice is provided in a similar approach to the American Nursing Association standards. Competency is incorporated by the standard of practice among the graduate level-prepared nurses, the registered nurses, and the advanced practice registered nurses. User-friendly forms are updated in the practice on how to use the standard practices section. An overview of the situation that requires a nephrology nurse to intervene, competency, the scope of practice and the standard is provided in this article. Thus, one is able to understand the standard of practice and apply in his /her profession.
Margaret H. Kearney, Margaret Comerford Freda (2015): Nurse editors views on the peer-review process.
A growing research body has challenged the inter-reliability of the review training values, and peer review. However, a relatively unexamined standard has remained due to a double-blinded peer-review of papers. Content analysis was done to view 88 nurses on peer review and the majority of the nurses reported that blinding was important in peer review, therefore, avoiding the negative personal and to maintain objectivity. Editorial decision making process and increased transparency level was reviewed among the minority who saw the benefit of open review. The common mistake of the review was that there were inappropriate focus and lack of specifying during the review process.
Michelle R. Simpson (2008): Engagement at work: A review of the literature
The author states that the engagement of work among nurses is poorly understood. Thus, the need of a work review of literature among the nurse the author focuses on the consequence of work engagement by reviewing the highlights of four lines of engagement. Hence, the different review was done in the health science, health administration, organization psychology, and a systematic business review were performed.
For effective interventions, several groups have outlined some methodologies for a systematic literature review. The different methodology that is used during the research are; formulation of questions and searching for a collection of literature. The nursing peer review referrers to an examination of nurses research by fellow professional work mates. For effective evidence of the author, the must be comprehensively sufficient thus the complexity of the evidence is encompassed.
According to the authors, there have been changes over the years such as the essential features of advanced nursing practices have been debated and considerable research was done. The trial drugs can add many side effects towards the patience hence or could provide a little benefit towards the patients. The most effective treatment at the present moment is considered since the trial drugs enabled the nurses to identify the sickness and educate the patient about the illness. Hence, there are agencies that regulate and fund the nursing research, therefore, different criteria's are used in the systematic review. Peer reviewed publication is a characteristic about the criteria used pertaining to publication.
Nursing education has a difficult and rigorous nature, therefore, students tend to focus more on the jobs alone. Authors suggested that students should repor...
