Writing is a process that incorporates steps such as pre-writing, drafting, revising, and publishing. When a writer decides to commence writing, the question that always lingers in their mind is whether to use the single draft or multiple draft method of writing. Drafting is the initial stage where the writer begins the writing process to develop a more comprehensive work. Both methods of draft writing are good, but from a personal perspective, the multiple draft method is the best. The reason is that it makes one a better writer, gives one the opportunity to revise a paper. A single draft paper is a foul paper.

Writing multiple draft papers benefits a writer because it makes them become a much better writer at doing papers. All good writers write multiple drafts. In fact, it is what makes them more successful in their careers or lives. Annie Lamott says "People tend to look at successful writers, writers who are getting their books published and maybe even doing well financially, and think that they sit down at their desks every morning feeling like a million dollars" (Lamott, 2005, p.1). Those successful writers went through multiple drafts in order to get their books to be published. According to the author, she has known many successful writers who have always used multiple draft method of writing. Lammot (2005, p.1) provides an example of her situation where she used to write food reviews for the California Magazine and how the review caused canceled subscriptions. She explains that over time, she learned to write different drafts. She says that she used to write down things, cross some out and leave others. She indicates that after writing shitty first drafts, she learned to trust the writing process and eventually became a better writer.

Writing multiple drafts enhances the revision process. Revising a paper is always the most important part. While writing multiple drafts you can edit or revise a paper in different ways. Kilarska (2008, p.6) affirms that the multiple draft method of writing raises student's awareness of the significance of revision. The author conducts an analysis of the two different types of drafts both qualitative and quantitative methods and shows the way multiple drafts are complemented by peer responses and the way it influences the revision process. Also, the author affirms that multiple draft writing enables students to understand that coherent papers are produced by reworking on the content repeatedly. She recommends teachers to encourage students to write successive drafts to produce meaningful writing. Additionally, peer comments are useful because it enables writers to revise their papers effectively. Furthermore, Lammot (2005, p.1) articulates that the way to get anything written is to write shitty first drafts. After writing the drafts, she goes through them and establishes the main points that she should include in the final product. The author affirms that the first draft is like a child's draft, which a person can save and revise it later.

A single draft paper produces a reprehensible paper. Kilarska (2008, p.2) affirms that as a novice teacher of writing, she noticed that her student's produced poor quality papers, poor arguments, and lack of proper thesis statements. Due to that, she decided to introduce another method of writing, which is the multiple draft method of writing, which included pre-writing and peer responses that are aimed at promoting revisions. Notably, the single draft method of writing does not produce a quality paper because the writer fails to follow all the steps of the writing process. When writing single drafts, the final paper will have poor organization, poor thesis statement, and a poor development of main ideas. Lammot (2005, p.2) indicates that in the initial stages of writing, the drafts are always terrible. As it appears, she recommends writers to write three drafts before submitting their final paper. She affirms, "Start by getting something - anything -- down on paper. A friend of mine says that the first draft is the dou'n draft -- you just get it down. The second draft is the up draft -- you fix it up. You try to say that you have to say more accurately. And the third draft is the dental draft, where you check every tooth, to see if it's loose or cramped or decayed, or even, God help us, healthy" (Lammot, 2005, p.2). Evidently, multiple draft method of writing is more about the process and the product because it enhances writing skills and produces an exemplary paper.

Conclusion

In writing, students have their preference for writing. My preference for writing is the multiple draft method. As discussed above, the multiple draft method is better because it enhances the writing process through revisions and makes a person to become a better writer. The paper introduces peer response training, which improves the student's composing skills in the multiple draft assignments. Based on the importance of multiple draft writing method and the high cases of student's writing poor content, teachers are likely to enforce the multiple draft writing in their classroom practice in the future. Overall, students should emulate the multiple drafts method because it would improve their papers successfully and their entire paper will appear efficient.
