2. Intervention objectives

a) To lower the rate of young women being affected by depression and obesity health conditions.

b) To raise awareness on the need of middle-aged women adopting healthy lifestyles. This would include demonstrating the importance of carrying out exercises and eating a well-balanced diet.

c) To educate the African American middle-aged women on how to maintain their well-being and the need for taking precautions to remain healthy.

3. Components to be used in the intervention

The expected community intervention will incorporate the following components. First, the middle-aged women who are at a higher risk of developing depression and obesity health cases will be involved in training and be provided with sufficient information of the need to employ tactics that supports people to live healthy lives. This component will entail the targeted group being supplied with educative resources to be able to learn more about the benefits of living a healthy life (Marihart et al., 2014). Furthermore, experienced health professionals will be involved in offering training and mentorship programs to young women. All this will aim at empowering the ladies to be able to care for their health conditions on their own without necessarily having someone to monitor them.

On the other hand, factors which prevent middle-aged ladies from being fully equipped with essential knowledge concerning adopting healthier lifestyles that will need to be assessed. The ladies will be requested to state any challenge they will be experiencing while undertaking the training. Overall, the level of understanding and the knowledge acquired by the middle-aged ladies that will be involved in the training will be evaluated. In the same manner, the ability to apply obtained information will be assessed (Community Health Plan of Washington, 2016).

Secondly, the resources and support will be provided to the targeted group of women. In this case, raising awareness and sensitizing on the need to monitor individual health will be shown. This component will involve explaining to those who are not sure why they need to take good care of their own to minimize obesity and depression cases among that population. Nevertheless, after the intervention program implementation has come to an end; those middle-aged women who will not have attained enough skills will be supported for an extended period to ensure they fully achieve the targeted knowledge (Mallorqui-Bague et al., 2018). Overall, other required materials that will not be present will be sort from relevant organizations as well as from well-wishers.

Thirdly, the intervention program will entail modifying the barriers and accessibility to good healthy lifestyles. In this case, all the factors that hinder young women from adopting healthy lifestyles will be noted and be solved. Nevertheless, assessment of possible hindrances including the elements such as financial shortage, illiteracy and cultural practices that could prevent the targeted women from realizing better health outcomes after the program will be analyzed (Kontogianni & Panagiotakos, 2014). Most importantly, the probability of middle-aged women to carry out exercise activities will be evaluated. Similarly, assessment of using well-balanced diets will be done. This will help in determining the willingness of the middle-aged women to change into living healthier lifestyles.

4.The action plan for carrying out the intervention

The action plan for implementing the response shall be carried out as follow:

a) The program will mainly focus on strengthening middle-aged women skills and knowledge. Thus, experienced health professionals will be involved in training and mentoring the middle-aged women (Kontogianni & Panagiotakos, 2014). By the second week of the practice, health professionals will have helped ladies to gain enough skills to facilitate their learning.

b) Learning materials including pamphlets and brochures will be provided to the ladies. Furthermore, the women will be presented with writing materials and pens to be able to write down important points that could be passed across during training or mentorship sessions.

c) However, there are various challenges which are expected to be experienced during the implementation of the training program. In this case, it is likely that some of the ladies will not fully commit themselves from the start of the program up to the end because they could be having other family issues to attend to. Also, some of the ladies could lose morale to continue with the training at some points probably because the practice will not be meeting their expectations (Community Health Plan of Washington, 2016). Thus, the challenges would be solved by encouraging the ladies to willingly take part in the programs and support implementations of various interventions.

d) The regional administrations will be consulted concerning the equipping procedures that will be carried out in an area. They will be informed about the aim of the project and why they needed to use the targeted population. Similarly, the ministry of health will be consulted and notified about the purpose of an intervention program and how helpful it could have been in improving health care.
