The main stakeholders in a healthcare facility involve employers, patients, physicians, pharmaceutical firms, insurance, and the government (Forsythe et al., 2016). All the stakeholders play a crucial in the formulation and successful implementation of any given health project, the roles cut across several critical aspects within the society. Thus, the stakeholders' support and involvement in such projects cannot be underrated.
First, the stakeholders in the health facility will provide the necessary expertise. The nursing home infection and hand hygiene project is a relatively large and important project that will require excellent expertise (Klingler et al., 2019). The stakeholders are generally well endowed with knowledge about the current and past information on the health facility's projects. Thus engaging them in the project will ensure that the necessary details are captured without missing any.
Moreover, the health facility's stakeholders are crucial in ensuring project acceptance of the nursing home infection and hand hygiene project. The more often the stakeholders are engaged and involved in the formulation stages of the project, the more the chances of the project having a positive conclusion (Boaz et al., 2018). This means that all the stakeholders are to be aware of the expectations of the project before it is implemented. Consequently, the challenges that may arise in the project are easily solved.
Nonetheless, the involvement of the stakeholders in the nursing home infection and hand hygiene project will help in reducing and revealing the risks involved (Forsythe et al., 2016). This is possible since the stakeholders openly discuss the project details. In the process, the stakeholders may raise issues of concerns and point out the potential problems before the actual implementation of the project.
Securing stakeholders' support in the nursing home infection and hand hygiene project can be done in several ways. For instance, clarifying the purpose, various roles, and the expected outcome before the project will significantly help in mobilizing the stakeholder's support (Concannon et al., 2019). This will make stakeholders aware of how their contributions will affect the project. Consequently, most of them will work towards supporting the project.
Moreover, involving the stakeholders in the resolutions of the project will immensely help in soliciting their support. The nursing home infection and hand hygiene project will require the stakeholders to remain highly accountable for their actions (Klingler et al., 2019). As a result, the stakeholders will give the necessary support for the completion of the project.
In conclusion, stakeholders' involvement and engagement in any health project are very crucial. This is because the stakeholders are key to numerous factors that lead to the success of project implementation. Consequently, several projects have failed due to no stakeholders involved in the planning and implementation stages of a project. Thus, the support and involvement of the stakeholders in a project cannot be underrated.
