Introduction
Speech-language pathology is an area of study by itself. It explores and examines a particular disorder that negatively interferes with someone's capacity to communicate effectively and recommends a possible solution of the same. People of different ages overcome pathologies that hinder maximum potential communication with the help of speech-language pathologists (Blom Johansson, 2012). So many people give little attention to the way they communicate with others. The way they address people and the way they take how information delivery is done. But to the few who have gone through speech pathologies, they understand quite clearly the importance of communicating conventionally. In a management context, communication is critical. The way people interact with each in an organization can define the organization's success. Consequently, there are mentoring and coaching techniques which are formulated to govern how people communicate effectively regarding different roles. The methods, begin with clients narrating their part of the story, coming up with relevant possibilities and setting up objectives and goals then developing an action plan.
In an organization, excellent communication is necessary to maintain a rapport between supervisors (managers) and employees. A transitional analysis is used to guide supervisor and develop employees as well. Transactional Analysis which is oftenly abbreviated to TA, is a way of understanding a relationship by looking at the transactions between people (Wickenden, 2013). Adult, parent, and child are the three ego states that the theory maintains operates from. A mentor or a couch uses transitional analysis to identify specific patterns of communication and suggest a suitable response that does justice to both parties. The supervisor, in this case, plays the role of a parent who is critical and nurturing. The employee represents the child ego, rebellious, and adaptive. The mentor listens to the transaction, highlights patterns and themes. This is later followed by an explanation of the three ego states- child, parent, and adult.
The prime role of transitional analysis is to adjust to understand relationship by examining transaction among people. There is a mutual relationship between the two parties: the supervisor and the employee. The comment of the supervisor triggers a positive response from the employee. The supervisor is using transitional analysis to formulate a polite way of correcting the employee. The employee displays hilarious attributes by showing the ability to respond correctly to a corrective comment.
Clients should explain how they should understand each other as well as growing their self-awareness. They need to understand what other people know about them and what they know about themselves. Self-Examination to bring into limelight what they don't know about themselves and realize what appropriate and necessary to share. Quadrants experience changes due to different situations .for instance if you decide to conceal information about yourself, the private quadrant increases, and the public quadrant decreases. This technique can help clients to have a bigger picture of their selves and know the appropriate way to address issues. Ultimately, the Johari Window enables the clients to be self-aware. They can review the information that they expose and relate it to the feedback they get from people.
