In sharp city school, the school administrator who is also the district officer has the legitimate power that comes from his formal position. The power also comes from the respect that is accorded to the position. The school principal also understands that the administrator can exert control over him. Further, the school principal must seek orders from the administrator before making important decisions. Additionally, the school board has the power of teachers and students because they make decisions to help in running the institution. The school principal, as well as the school board, have the referent power which they use to influence teachers concerning the work that they do.
The problem with the sharp city school district is that coercive power is held by the community as well as teachers when they strike, and parental uprisings in need to influence decision making in schools. Further, there are political instabilities that lead to reduced operations.
The recommended solutions are for the school top close down where there are strikes, and parental uprising top avoids harm to students and teachers in the process. Further, when the school is closed, it is difficult for the strikes to continue.
