Evidence-based practice has gained momentum in the healthcare industry. It is significant because it promotes high-quality care. Besides that, it improves patient outcomes, eliminates costs, and removes any doubts about nursing care practice. Ever since its emergence, evidence-based practice has been beneficial in every way. The best thing about it considers patient's preferences. When professionals in the healthcare sector utilize evidence-based practice in their decision-making process, they improve their expertise. Nevertheless, despite the immense benefits of evidence-based practice, critics aver that it relies heavily on research and can therefore not be integrated in the medical practice. From a personal perspective, their notion is wrong because relying on research helps nurses to gain more awareness in the manner to handle patients' needs. As a nursing student, it is believable evidence-based practice is helpful in ensuring that patients receive quality care. During my internship, the hospital relied on evidence-based practice significantly. Based on personal thoughts, the practice is necessary because nurses managed to make decisions regarding patients' care in an effective and efficient way.

Jean Watson's theory of human caring focuses on health promotion and treating diseases. Some of the elements of the theory include the Caritas process to promote therapeutic relationship, the transpersonal caring relationship, caring moments and occasions, as well as healing modalities. Well, in school, our professor teaches students to care for patients in their physical, emotional and spiritual state. From a personal perspective, Watson's theory is significant in nursing care because it creates a healing environment for patients. In the nursing industry, Watson's theory has changed the field in a profound way. The evidence supporting Watson's theory of human caring reveals the way caring can help in the healing practice. In hospice and palliative care, Watson's theory is highly applicable because, from a personal perspective, those are the patients who require utmost attention.

The primary ethical issues that nurses should consider in research include confidentiality, benevolence, informed consent, and respect for privacy. Ethics is one of the primary professional conducts in research. In nursing practice, ethics should be considered as a priority. From a personal perspective, researchers should know how and when to draw the line between acceptable and unacceptable conduct. Besides that, they ought to know the difference between misconduct and misunderstanding. During scientific researches in clinical practice, parties involved have to ensure that they adhere to norms that govern the practice. One aspect that is necessary to consider is the way they leave patient's information that they have researched on their desk, thinking that no one will have access to them. That behavior is considered unethical as it might be accessible to unauthorized people. Researchers should ensure that each detail that they have gathered from their patient is kept within their selves. More so, another important aspect of ethics in research is avoiding fabrication. For instance, in the case of Paolo Machiarini, unethical behavior was observed when it was revealed that the experiments he performed on humans, the organ transplantation, did not have a research foundation. Overall, leaders in the health industry ought to introduce training procedures that ensure researchers know how to resolve some of the ethical dilemmas involved in the practice.

Protecting subjects in quality improvement or evidence-based practice projects is mandatory in clinical practice. Such protection encompasses areas such as privacy, benevolence, and informed consent. Researchers have to ensure that they incorporate ethics into their studies to ensure that their studies are at per with the ethical guidelines in medical practice. Essentially, protecting subjects encompasses both ethical and regulatory responsibilities. Ethics involves protecting their welfare and interests. The regulatory responsibility is that researchers must ensure that they protect their subject's interests. They have to ensure that they do not perform any experiments that subjects have not agreed to do. Besides that, they have to design their study in a way that will pose minimal risks to the subjects. Most importantly, researchers have to ensure that they check with the Institutional Review Boards to ensure that all subjects are protected. A case where subjects were not protected during a research was the experiment of Paolo Machiarini. During his experiment on organ transplantation, most of them died afterward. To avoid such a case in future studies, the Institutional Review Boards should ensure that they review the scientific merits by assessing the risks and benefits of the trials.

Creating and sustaining an evidence-based practice nursing environment is significant in the healthcare industry. As mentioned earlier, evidence-based practice is significant because it improves patient outcomes, reduces costs, and removes doubts. When nurses manage to create a sustainable environment where their sole decisions are made using evidence, then they can create a friendly environment for patients. Nurses have to work together to conduct research on their patients before making decisions regarding the mode of treatment and the administration of medications. From a personal perspective, creating and sustaining an environment where evidence-based research exists is possible. All nurses have to is to undergo training that will enable them to learn how to incorporate evidence-based research into practice. Moreover, they have to make inquiries regarding the care of individuals and their populations. More to the point, when conducting research, they need to acquire the best available evidence they can find. Additionally, they have to evaluate their processes and ensure that the research matches with whatever they need to know about their patients. Most importantly, they have to integrate the evidence with their clinical proficiency. Essentially, nurses have to make evidence-based practice a habitual process in their practice to make it more sustainable. Furthermore, administrators have to create a sustainable environment by making electronic searches available to promote evidence-based nursing.

Conclusion

There are facilitators to implementing evidence into practice. One of the primary facilitators is integrating evidence into practice. On the other hand, there are barriers to implementing evidence into practice. One of the most significant one is the lack of resources. Others include the lack of time and failure to understand the language used in the research. From a personal perspective, these barriers can be detrimental to a health organization as they might reduce the chances of patients getting quality care. Besides that, there ought to be a prioritization of evidence-based practice in all medical institutions. Moreover, nurses have to undergo training in research to become aware of the concepts in evidence-based practices and equip themselves with research skills. Based on personal views, nurses have to focus on the barriers more than the facilitators. They can do so by making library visits more often to equip their knowledge on the research in question. Overall, the facilitators of evidence-based practice outweigh its barriers.
