Introduction

My specific interests in the Masters of Liberal Arts program arose based on the attraction that I had because of the interdisciplinary nature of the program. Notably, my interests are quite broad and cover among various areas that include Gender, Religion and Culture. Born in Panama City, Panama, raised in Southern California. Culture, Religion, Society has always been a learning board all of my life. In this sense, therefore, this program will enable me to undertake a broad study field that integrates several of my particular interest areas. At the age of 17, I had a life-changing experience while being sent on a religious pilgrimage through Europe specifically in the nations such as Italy, Spain, France and Portugal.

As a graduate, I am highly aware of the friendly, positive and the challenging academic environment provides for a student, and I look forward to returning to it in your institution. Continuing my education will also assist me in growth within the company and to increase my human experience with my peers. I further feel that my learning experiences in a liberal art program will tremendously play crucial roles in opening my mind that is now stagnant. This is based on the fact that college brings back these principles and consequently expand on them.

Looking back, I am grateful for the opportunities that I have been given in various companies that have sharpened my skills. I feel that I have been able to have a broader sense of the world as compared to just my surroundings. My 29-year experience in an insurance industry has dramatically imparted essential knowledge and skills in me. Notably, I have learned all of the aspects of an underwriting service assistant, working with internal and external customers, as a trainer, mentor, and resource.

Irrespective of where an individual is in this world, there are many disciplines that either positively or affect our lives. Masters in Liberal Arts program at your university is globally recognised for its ability to expose students to new ideas, as well as ways through which they can understand their surroundings. Taking into account the manner in which human beings relate to each other, society, and environment is vital to continue to progress and develop towards a positive direction.

My academic background and professional experience prove that I am a competitive candidate for the program that I am applying for. In reality, my "generalist" fascination fits exceptionally well within the interdisciplinary nature of the program. I possess knowledge in the areas and topics that I will be focusing on in my master in the liberal arts program. I am highly confident that I can excel in this program based on the passion and interests that I have in my company as an Underwriter and then into SIU (Special Investigative Unit). I am looking forward to engaging myself in research, experiments and discoveries that will be able to increase the competitive advantages of your institutions among other universities regarding quality research.
