To understand the grade set topics, students need to acquire the ability to read and make notes without difficulties. However, this ability is relative based on the literacy level of the learners. Some of them may have a low level while others at the average or record higher literacy degree. To obtain the student's best grade point average, the teacher should understand the key strategies to employ in their teaching work. Therefore, as a teacher, this paper aims to describe how I will approach my year, ensuring a higher margin of improvement to the low literacy levels in my class.

According to the baseline assessment collected, I understand the literacy diversities in my class. This knowledge is an eye-opener to the strategy that I will employ to approach my students this year. With the understanding of having many students reading and writing under their grade level, I shall use the "Positive Attitude Shaping" as a first unit. To introduce the topic to my student, I must enquire what they know about the term attitude. As such, I will pose questions related to the contributions to their poor reading performances. These questions will trigger their knowledge about the effects of negative attitudes towards subjects such as mathematics and sciences.

In this unit, I will use a primary and transitional literacy strategy in giving the instructions. It will include but not limited to humor, brainstorming, and general discussions, which allows my students to read a text, think, and share its meaning. This sharing will transform their attitudes about the subjects learned in their grade, enhancing the passion and desire to know more to participate in the group work. The inclusion will help me to assess the understanding of my students as well as their skills development. For example, after their sharing, I may choose to ask any student what their friend has shared concerning the text. This response will notify the extent of skills development.

Also, I will group my students based on their literacy level. To promote the reading skills at a low literacy level, I will have two groups, each represented by the students reading above the grade level. The four students learning on the grade level will be equally distributed in the existing groups while others reading below the level get proportionally disbursed to the first groups. This grouping will enhance the low reading graders to acquire the pronouncing skills of complex words from the students reading beyond their level. After understanding the word's pronouncements, I would let such learners write them without referring to the text's source. This reading and writing practice would become a norm in every starting of my class by which changing the book based on their improvements level will be crucial.

In this unit, I would get concerned with the transformation of the student's failing mindset, making them adapt the "making it" attitude in other subjects. For instance, I might use a task that would challenge my student's way of viewing the "hard units." Use of questions like, "how many marks do you think you can get in mathematics?" may trigger their attitude, making it positive hence excelling in that subject. By posing such questions to them, they get challenged and view themselves as bright students.

Conclusion

As such, they ought to employ a positive attitude to exploit their critical thinking hence improving their subjects. Therefore, to achieve their goals, the common core standards in Literacy help them to read much literature and more detailed books of sciences and mathematics. This foreign habit of reading more books helps my learners to have a broad scope of the skills in pronouncing and reading the complex vocabularies. Also, the use of humor, brainstorming, and general discussion as a literacy strategy in my class, enhance my student's creativity and make them believe in themselves. As a result, it improves independency reasoning, thus performing excellently.
