Important Information to Outsource
I would want to know the name of the 7-year old patient, his weight, allergic reactions and information concerning the accident and whether the patient became unconscious at the time of injury (Zonfrillo et al., 2012).
Required Nursing Intervention
The child should be put under an interval of five-minute observation of due to the head injury which is a threat for concussions.
HEENT Assessments
An assessment of head injury should be done to determine if it was led to unconsciousness to the patient. Allergies of the patient should be inquired before administering him with medications using any background data concerning other illness (Zonfrillo et al., 2012).
Important Neurological Assessments
I would test the patient's blood pressure and body temperature before administering him with methoxyflurane as a pain reliever (Lau, Kontos, Collins, Mucha & Lovell, 2011). I would assess the patient experience concerning extreme pain to determine if he should be administered with fentanyl that was to decrease pain from level 10 to about 4.
Interventions to Perform to the Patient
I would want to speculate the areas that the patient portrays to be severely injured and other possible areas that can depict that the 7-year old patient might be having an internal injury.
Primary Concerns
I would want to study the head injury, fractures and injuries to his soft tissues like mouth and gum. I would want to speculate if the 7-year old patient became unconscious after toppling before attaining his consciousness (Marar, 2012). Speculations on the preliminary diagnosis are important in the assessment of how excessive bleeding could be controlled before administering hemorrhage control drugs (Marar, 2012).
Inter-professional Team
I would collaborate with family nurse practitioners and neurologist to determine the extent of head injury in the plight of alleviating any leads to concussions.
Response to a 77-Year-Old Patient
For a 77-year old patient, I would consider dosage to be a factor for alleviating pain. I would also do the assessment basing on the causes of elderly falls which are usually common at old age (Marar, 2012). I would, therefore, include an evaluation of other health complications and the medications that the elderly have ever been subjected to.
