My idea of a healthy community is a community which does not necessarily have no illnesses but one in which its members develop a common goal, common values, and are actively involved in working together to attain these shared ideas to lead productive livelihoods. Some particular examples that highlight my idea about a healthy community are inclusive of but not limited to access to preventive screening and care, safe environment, access to safe food and water, building community networks, establishing community empowerment programs, youth employment, achieving diversity unity, developing community conflict resolution strategies. However, according to the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, a healthy community is one that is consistently developing and enhancing the physical and social environments and extensively expanding the community shared resources which enable community to support each other in undertaking the functions of life to achieve their ultimate capacity ("Healthy Communities Means Healthy Opportunities ", 2010). This definition reinforces my idea of community health. Some specific examples of this definition are the opportunity to attain proper education, the ability to intellectually stimulate processes, the chance to be safe in the work setting as well as the home environment.

What do healthy communities have in common?

Healthy communities have various elements in common. Some of the shared values, beliefs, ideas include actions, solutions to health and other challenges, unity derived from diverse alliances, regular self-evaluation to keep on course, focus on emergency supply, strategic networks to promote correspondence, work and play time, community resources such as land and medical care. Also, healthy communities have other health-related issues in common such as lower smoking rates, more exercise as people love to work out to stay fit, lower rates of obesity and cardiovascular diseases, higher rate of produce consumptions which are plant-based, fewer diabetes cases, lower cholesterol intake and blood pressure, lower reports on cases of stress and depression, adolescent health among the young people, safe birth and less communicable disease spread. A healthy community share schools, roads, water services, electricity, and other utilities and infrastructure ("A Healthy Community is a Prepared Community | CDC", 2015). Tentatively, healthy communities focus on binding goals, objectives, and visions towards attaining full potential.

How would you provide care for a community if your idea of a healthy community does not match your community's definition of a healthy community?

To provide care for a community, there are multiple approaches, documentation, strategies and other resources which have to be executed and implemented to facilitate in building a healthy community. If the idea of a healthy community does not match with target community then one has to establish a pragmatic strategy which is holistic and involves the community participation. According to Mathew, (2001) the strategy has to be supported by the majority of the community members which it is meant to benefit. Their support can be in-kind, financial or in goodwill as it promotes their ownership of the project. For the strategy to be functional, a comprehensive plan should be formulated coupled with supporting goals within the community. Motivated individuals in the community should take part in empowering all other undecided members of the society. Besides, providing care for such a community would be achieved if resources are put in one pool to focus on unity which would help in the identification of resource gaps.
