Introduction
Nursing is a profession that focuses on caring for the health of individuals and families in contemporary society within the healthcare sector to ensure that individuals have attained or recovered from their optimal health. (Bauer & Bodenheimer, 2018). Alternatively, nurses are grouped by their scope of practice, their approach to patient care, and their vocational training. Subsequently, nurses are the main healthcare providers for they perform various specialties with differing levels of prescribed authorization. In most cases, nurses perform their duties under the delegation of physicians in the healthcare organizations where their role is majored on receiving, diagnosing and taking care of the patient needs in the healthcare (Bauer & Bodenheimer, 2018).
There are different levels of nurses, depending on the degree of their training. Registered nurses (RN) are the highly qualified nurses, followed by Certified Nurse's Assistant (CNA) and then Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) (Goldsberry, 2018). Nurses under LVNs are best in giving primary care insubordination of Registered Nurses (RNs). Although responsibilities vary among different nursing levels, there are typical responsibilities performed by almost every nurse regardless of their training level .(Goldsberry, 2018)The day to day nursing responsibilities includes scheduling, confirming appointments, updating charts, providing primary care, recording of the patient's signs and symptoms, injection preparation and provision, wound dressing, and collection of samples. Additionally, it's a nursing responsibility to assist in routine activities for comforting patients like bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene (Goldsberry, 2018). Moreover, nurses may help in case patients need to eat, wherein LVNs are mostly responsible for assisting them, although skilled LVNs may supervise other nursing aides and assistants.
Conclusion
In conclusion, nursing is an essential opportunity that has a tremendously positive impact on people's lives to build a high-performing healthcare organization. In particular, preventive measures are crucial for preserving healthy living among individuals, and it can only be achieved through nursing practices. Inherently, the opportunities given by nurses are endless since they work tirelessly to improve patients` health and improve their lives. Nursing is the only profession that handles huge and essential tasks that are needed by the patient in healthcare settings. Consequently, I have found nursing as a very important profession that bears a lot of potential impacts that are later associated with the day to day experiences of catering for patients needs while working in cooperation with other physicians in the healthcare.
