This paper has taken an interest in the above topic because it is limited to nursing which forms the basis for an area of expertise. Besides, medical errors have been ranked among the highest cause of deaths especially to patients under home care services. Nevertheless, a significant percentage of healthcare errors are made by society's most elite and intelligent individuals such as doctors (World Health Organization, 2016).

As a nursing student and a medical professional to be, the information gathered and the skills learned over time throughout the course has only provided theoretical aspects of nursing practices. However, the faculty has invested heavily on research methods and practices which will be used to complete this paper.

The survey study analyzed data collected from 2007 to 2012 using SPSS software.

Findings of the survey out of 708 complaints were: at least 9.8 percent of the cases were related to other medical practitioners while the rest were nurses. The most dominating cause of medical errors was negligence and nurse's recklessness which was at 66.7 percent.
