Older women who drop out of their labor force to act as the caregivers of the ill, aging relatives should be acknowledged and compensated by the government. This is because these women usually are faced without a lot of financial constraints in their work as caregivers to the old. A survey has been done, and it has been proofed that about 36% of the adults' caregivers older than the age of 50 have reported moderate to high levels of financial strain (Muramatsu, 2016). Therefore the government should chip in and credit them for the sacrifice they have made for their unpaid work.

The older person's medical bills have always been paid by Medicare regardless of their healthy lifestyles. This should not be the case for those people who choose to live an unhealthy, e.g. smoking and even reckless drinking. They need to be incurring more in the payment of the Medicare part B premium those who live a saver lives. Therefore it is essential for everyone to note that personal health responsibility should directly affect their access to public-funded health services from Medicare.

The best approaches to the restoration of the solvency of the social security trust fund involve increasing the retirement age. This is because staying in the workforce for a longer time allows workers to save more money before their retirement and go without wages for a short period. It also helps in improving the overall fiscal picture through enhanced labor market incentives and higher income revenues (Munnell, 2005).

Since life expectancy has been increasing over the past century, driving of older people should be restricted. This is because the driving personality of people is likely to change as they age, mellowing out to becoming slower-paced, less assertive and also more casual.
