Introduction

The memory means the ability to conserve and store experiences of various events in life and to put them into practice in areas of consciousness for some time after the event's occurrence. Occasionally, every human being forgets things. Most often, I do not remember some important events in my life. As a student, for instance, I have always forgotten easily some critical topics that have been taught by my teachers, especially my mathematics teacher. In addition to that, I easily misplace some of my learning and reading materials, such as the reading glasses, pens, and books that I have just used a few periods back.

Similarly, I can ask someone the same question repeatedly (Maioli et al., 2013), as well as taking longer to complete a particular familiar job. However, through the medical consultations from the professional doctor, I got advice that the rate of memory-related complications and the degree of decline in my thinking capacity is a reasonably regular part of life as someone continues to grow. Furthermore, the doctor realized that I was suffering from memory loss related disorder called Alzheimer's illness that is very treatable. Therefore, that is the current condition of my memory and the thinking capacity.

Things Which are Challenging to Memorize

Generally, there are several things that I cannot readily recall after the occurrence or may take me a lot of events to memorize. Usually, for example, I find it difficult to remember the name of an old friend with whom I have just met for quite sometimes back. Additionally, I may also misplace some items in the areas which are not appropriate like placing my studying glasses or wallet in the refrigerator while taking a drink. Again, it may be difficult for me to memorize some significant events of my life unless someone reminds me. For example, most often, I do not remember my birthday unless I get told by the family members or a close friend. Besides, I also easily misplace some of my learning materials like pens and books that I have just used sometimes (Jaaniste et al., 2015). Seemingly, the doctor realized that I am suffering from memory loss due to emotional-related health problems such as anxiety, depression, and stress, which has contributed broadly to my memory loss. Hence, it is complicated for me to memorize some of the events of my life due to memory loss problems.

Ways of Improving my Memory

Through a series of medical administration and the consultations by the professional doctor, the following are the significant ways of improving my memory status:

Regularly Doing Physical Exercise

Overall, physical activity enhances blood circulation in the whole body, which includes my brain. Hence, this may keep my memory very alert and sharp at any given time. My doctor has advised me to do aerobic exercises such as jogging daily, as this will keep my mind sharp every time.

Interact Regularly

Frequently, social interaction amongst people assists in preventing depressions, anxiety as well as stress, which are the significant causes of memory loss. Therefore, the doctor encouraged to regularly interact with my family members and friends more so when I feel lonely.

Getting Enough Sleep

Commonly, adequate sleep plays an essential role in consolidating someone's memory by enabling one to remember things easily. I was advised to make sleep one of my priorities towards strengthening my mind by sleeping 6 to 8 hours daily.

Eating a Healthy Diet

Usually, a healthy diet may be useful for the growth and development of the body, including the heart and brain, as significant parts of the body. Therefore, one should eat fresh fruits, green vegetables as well as whole grains, and low-fat proteins (fish and beans), as this strategy will significantly improve the memory.
