The author of this article does not necessarily provide the topic sentences for each paragraph as the paragraphs are split into very short sentences. However, he provides the thesis statement as to prove markets are efficient and the use of the Ricardian equivalence theorem to show that fiscal stimulus policies are useless at least in the long runrequires the presumption that the economic system is ergodic. Apart from this clear statement of the thesis, the topic sentences that ought to be highlighted in each paragraph are not either put in bold or in any other color so as to signal the reader.

Introduction Strategies

The introductory part of this article starts with the general information to the more specific ones. Specifically, the author starts by describing how the mainstream scientists describe the characteristics of a science. Afterwards, he goes ahead to infer from the information that economics should also have those descriptions if it were to be referred to as a science. The author then advances in his introduction to stating the purpose of the article as well as how he intends to stimulate the discussion that had been started by the economists. The author proceeds to identify the specific theories that underlie his arguments, which makes the reader to move from the more general discussion of the subject matter to the more specific details of the author.

The end of the expository article uses a recommendation style. In this regard, the author sums ups the whole article by stating that the Keyness liquidity theory of the operation of financial markets is deductive in nature. Afterwards, he recommends that the theory should replace the mainstream models proposed by other economics such as the artificial world model of Lucas. This is due to the practicality and reality of Keyness liquidity theory.
