It is a reality television show filmed in Los Angeles. The reality is about fashion designers who come together to prove whose best in fashion through a series of competitions. The program comprises over ten episodes where eighteen designers compete in session according to various styles and trends worldwide. The winner walks away with massive cash prizes and awards. Each one of them has got a design best in comparison to the other, ranging from bridal design, menswear, street wear, underwear design, and gowns. The fact that each designer wants to prove best the sector brings the view of a conflict in this program. Each of them needs to come up with a design that is superior to the rest (LINKE, Christine pp. 147 2016). The conflict here gets seen clearly between the designers when they try to outdo the other. The competition is against themselves and therefore proving to be better than the rest is the only way to solve the conflict and walk away with the prize. The cast gets to resolve the disputes by accepting defeat when the winner gets announced, and by collaborating with the winner, it would probably help in forming a firm to expertise more in the designing industry. No one gets removed from the show due to the understanding they portrayed of getting to know only a single winner would emerge (Sarulatha, Ms N., and V. Sasirekha. Pp. 85 2017). Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

It is a reality television show presented by Ty Pennington. It originates from the United States. Extreme makeover: home edition has ten seasons and 200 episodes (Makeover, Bogart-Extreme, et al np. 2016). The show involves a series of great stories involving volunteers who give back to the communities by renovating exterior and landscape homes of the family who are not in a better position to do it. It includes contractors, designers, and several workers. The process gets completed in a couple of days while the family is away. The team endured any form of weather and would not mind until the process gets done.

During several renovations, the program receives discriminated for several reasons for not performing a perfect job. Another conflict towards the plan was financial issues; some families got stranded in maintaining their homes after a makeover, which led to selling them. In the process of renovating, the cast experienced some problems like injuring themselves, which led to some of them being absent for an entire season to recover fully. The program faced critics from viewers for what they meant to be unnecessary and excessive renovations-saying that they perform higher ratio lifestyles to homes that dint requires much attention. Adding to it that, they, as the home edition crew, take advantage of some privileged individuals to renovate their homes for the hidden purpose to market their program, where each cast wants to get more popular hence marketing themselves individually. The actors get to resolve the conflict by avoiding negative feedback and concentrate on renovating home. It gets termed as a conflict of persons. The program delivers a message of good hope when they build houses for these individuals. It gets seen that the show motivates people to live in harmony and love one another through the act of renovating homes. Extreme makeover: home edition still lives on in gorgeous homes and reruns, which they made in the era of their nine-year run even though it ended in 2012. While the reality shows a motivational aspect in the reality television globe of conflicting drunken roommates and homemakers, there are still scandals and heartbreaks.

Compare and Contrast

Conflicts in both programs occur where the cast differs in their opinions and duties during their show. For instance, next in fashion, the actor has different designs. They compete against themselves to prove who is better. It gets compared to the extreme home edition where the cast tries to gain popularity individually when they renovate homes where several have intentions of just marketing themselves when they do the charity work. The two cases of conflicts in the programs are almost similar because personal interests get gained. Both programs deliver a positive message to their viewers as they perform good deeds. We get to see the home edition program renovating homes for the less privileged same to next in a fashion where they love each other even after one contestant walks away with the prizes despite competing together. The fact each designer wants to prove best in his sector brings a view of the conflict in this program. Each of them needs to come up with a design that is superior to the rest. The conflict here gets seen clearly between the designers when they try to outdo the other. It brings differences among the contestants who will do anything for them to win the prize.

Contrast

In 'next in fashion,' conflicts in mostly seen between themselves by competing against each other to be the best designer in the home edition. We get to see battles between the viewers and the show cast a case where the show gets criticized by viewers of taking advantage of the situation to renovate homes but mainly to advertise and market the program, a conflict between viewers and the cast. We get to see the home edition program had conflicts in financial issues where it made families sell their homes due to not being able to maintain them. It is a different case next to the fashion program where no financial issues are present. The application only has conflicts against themselves, but the home edition involved in disputes between themselves and the viewers where they get criticized. Home edition casts would sometimes possess injury during renovation where they would spend the entire season out, which means there were conflicts also with the management of the program, unlike the next in a fashion show where there would be no cases of absentees.
