Introduction
The Public Library of Science (PLOS) is nonprofit blog group aimed at informing the online users about trends in science and medicine. It is a significant site to get substantial research information regarding scientific facts. Plos.org was launched in 2006 as the official blog to serve the interests of target audience who uses informational communication forum to discuss and exchange scientific facts. Therefore PLOS authors share information with their readers in an informal setting. Since the inception of plos.org, the organization has successfully managed to a new journal blog known as EveryONE. As a result, the blogs network has expanded to reach the global audience to discuss global health matters such as obesity in young children and genetics.
Besides PLOS being a sizeable research-based organization, currently, it hosts a substantial number of individual blogs who focus on multivariate scientific topics. The objective of hosting personal blogs on the PLOS network is to create harmony among the scientific stakeholders work such as policymakers, journalists, researchers, the public and the health practitioners. Sara Kassabian is the PLOS Social Media Manager responsible for giving feedback and clarification regarding the blog. However, as much as the blog hosts various personal blogs, it has no authority to edit or alter the individual content. The PLOS blog writers and host content writers are held liable as per the community code of conduct. The PLOS community policies and procedures require that every content writer avoids plagiarism, defamation, prevent promotion product and use of content from a third person without permission.
Additionally, PLOS has the mandate to ensure content shared online is adequately moderated to avoid legal suit and possible closure of their service. The organization, therefore, must provide information that has enough scientific backing free of prejudice, personal belief, and extremist thoughts. Apart from PLOS scientific credibility and relevance, the content shared by this blog can be reproduced and reused under the Creative Commons Attribution License 4.0 (CCBY). However, scientific content from host blogs that involve information from the third party, the material is restricted for redistribution and reuse. The PLOS blog has a significant presence on various social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. More so, readers can receive regular updates with a simple sign up process. It also gives the readers an opportunity to read and react on the post thus creating an informal forum of constructive discussion. Readers have a chance to conduct the PLOS editors and make inquiries.

Globally, obesity and overweight are rampant in children and teenagers. PLOS blog post on obesity and overweight in young adults and children. According to the PLOS editor's post, children with obesity have a high chance of contracting terminal illnesses such as hypertension, sleep problem, stroke, heart problems, and asthma (EditorPLOS, 2017). During socialization, overweight children become a victim of stigmatization and weak self-esteem. Therefore, to extend one's life expectancy, it significant to manage body weight during childhood to ensure a child grows with healthy body weight. An excellent blog is that which recognizes and reviews the previous research work on the subject matter. For instance, this blog is excellent scientific blog because it acknowledges the past studies on obesity and overweight in children and young adults. It the blog also observes policy and procedural requirement regarding medical interventions to prevent obesity.
It is evident that PLOS communicates scientific information to its audience after thorough research. The blog also shares information about scientific progress in improving human lives such as living a healthy life to avoid unhealthy conditions and risks such as obesity and hypertension (EditorPLOS, 2017). Thus, PLOS is free of fraud and extremist ideologies. The blog also supports the development of quality science to increase peoples' life expectancy period. The PLOS blog also observes a high degree of integrity, honesty, and code of conduct in its operations.
