Based on the fact that political and social-economic antecedents keep on changing based on the need and requirement of the social system, healthcare also keeps on evolving to meet the demand and needs of people. Since 1935 the United States' healthcare system shifted gradually from mainly private enterprises to both public and private sectors with a substantial role by providing universal health insurance cover and finance for different demographic groups. It led to the creation of government programs such as Medicaid and Medicare in 1965.

The need for healthcare insurance for all people after the occurrence of Great depression which had tremendously negative effects on the entire population most significantly people coming from the low social and economic background. It was facilitated by the improvement of employment-based medical healthcare insurance as a result of a strong economy during the 1950s which led to more extensive benefits. At the beginning of the 20th century, American medicine transformed into a professional entity with progressive advancement in biomedical science. Currently, the healthcare delivery system is a well-developed enterprise as a result of technology and medical science continuous evolution.

The health care system took a new phase with the passage of the Affordable Care Act marking a new era of medical health care reforms to develop a compressive Medicare system. It was primarily meant to establish and formulate patient protection regulations. The Affordable Care Act was transformed into Obamacare to expand and raise additional revenues by issuing a new tax payment system to pay for an additional cost which was highly opposed by Republicans. President Obama claimed that the new reform will provide quality and insurance cover that is more affordable, and inclusive for all Americans regardless of colour and social status. The system also provides an opportunity for an individual to keep his, or her doctor of choice to establish a high degree of patient protection.

Contrarily, based on the current political regime, there is a high possibility of the crafted Affordable Care Act may be short-lived. The Trump administration plan to replace ACA with a new reform program featuring less national government involvement since they believe that the ACA system is not sustainable with the current budget and was passed without seeking exclusive consensus.

Conclusion

In conclusion, before dismantling ACA, it important to put into consideration certain factors since a large population of Americans especially those with low income and poor social background depends on the services provided by ACA. The proposed healthcare system should be able to enable all Americans to have easy accessibility to medical service regardless of a pre-existing condition. It should also allow small business operators to access and receive health insurance at less price compared to large organizations and labour Unions. Besides, the government should also consider helping the individual who cannot afford the proposed insurance system by offering special incentives.
