Introduction
EBP is an essential part of BSN-RN since it helps to show how important the research is and also indicates how the other side of nursing and any other way that we stand up for our patients (Boswell &Cannon, 2018). EBP is after the quality outcomes of a patient and increasing the safety of the patient that improves the quality of life.
Ways through which I can continue to use evidence in my practices include, research for better ways through which to improve falls in the hospitals. Falls are becoming a significant problem in our hospitals, and it needs to be resolved to prevent further injuries or deaths. Second educate and train my fellow nurses on the importance of evidence and research. Through this, then it will be able to help the nursing field for many years to come (Schmidt & Brown, 2017). The third way is to make all the practices standardized by delivering outcomes like improved treatments and making healthcare services less costing. The fourth way through which I can use evidenced in my practice is to reduce all the medical complications that may arise across all the clinical fields.
Some of the challenges include the amount of work that the nurses are having on their shoulders to work on at a particular time. Most nurses will resist the challenge because of less time that they are having, but then if the issue is pushed, the nurses will have to adapt with it time by time. It will take much time for the nurses to adapt to the changes, but if there is persistence, then the nurses can be trained to change.
Another obstacle is the lack of research language and the resources that are needed to support and implement clinical research (Stevenson, 2018). It is challenging to implement clinical research without the uniform language of the research and adequate sources to support the research.
Time is also another barrier to the implementation of EBP. The implementation needs much time, and in most cases, there is a lack of time to implement the EBP resulting to poor performance of the EBP. One person is not enough to help change the practice, and that is the main reason why different cultures are needed in the implementation of the EBP and those who are ready to support the spirit of inquiry and the evidenced-based approaches that are usually applied in the field of nursing (Tariah et al., 2019) The BSN provides the students with the knowledge to put into practice the evidence-based approaches and view them as essentials approach in their daily practices. They put into account the patient’s preferences and clinical expertise.
EBP is an essential approach in the field of nursing with lots of benefits to nursing practices. With the available knowledge through the practice, nurses have been able to invent measures that have helped better healthcare services. Though it has challenges, nurses have been working hard to overcome the challenges through different ways.
