The five elements that this paper will focus on include, political factor, economical factor, social factor, cultural and morals of democracy.
Political Factors
The action of creating a republican government on the various economy led to an impact on the American democratic state during and after the American Revolution. The American citizens and national levels in the United States debated on who should be in charge of the national power in the country (Kallen 2018). During this process, both the citizens and the national level presented a certain level of democracy and majority rule in the country.
In the mid-18th, John Adams demonstrated democracy governance when he encouraged thirteen states to be fully independent colonies and write their state colonies. Adams also influenced the creation of state legislatures when he wrote an article on thoughts on government (Smith 2012). He suggested the creation of checks and balances system where there will be a creation of three arms of government. Adams continues by proposing that each state remain sovereign as a state. The was to allow all the country to fully stand on their own without any interference from outside powers. However, the creation of a state constitution in the United States later presented a different approach to addressing the issue of democracy among the three states in the country. Common practices were also presented in other states such as Pennsylvania, where individuals were allowed to own properties, right to vote, and expression (Smith 2012). Introduction of the Pennsylvania constitution allowed more citizens to be involved in free services.
Social Factor
Democracy improves the lives of individuals by promoting liberty, freedom of expression, freedom of property ownership, and freedom of conscience (Kallen 2018). In the 18th century, most United States individuals were denied freedom to participate in the election processes and political views (Kallen 2018). The American citizens were, however, not involved in various social processes in the decision-making process. There was no individual liberty during the American Revolution period. For instance there some communities such as Chaco, Cahokia ad Canyon engaged in a fierce conflict leading to displacement and destruction of the properties. The main cause of conflict was social factors that affected the growth several communities in America (Kallen 2018).
After the American Revolution, there were fundamental laws that were imposed in building social democracy in the country. For instance in North Carolina, there was introduction of freedom of speech were individuals were allowed to give their verdict in relation to a particular incident. Freedom of speech and expression termed as one universal law that was instilled. The liberty of an individual was protected as the citizens were treated with respect irrespective of their positions (Kallen 2018). All citizens, for instance, were allowed to participate in the political process in the country. This transformation resulted in positive social development and growth in the United States democracy.
Economic Factor
Democracy is one of the significant factors driving an economy of a given place; the United States faced a massive blow before the revolution as they were always in fights with England. In Virginia James Madison created a meeting in which all the economic activities are equally highlighted. All the American citizens have subjected continuously into conflict with England a factor that hinders economic prosperity in the region (Smith 2012). The Americans faced dictatorship kind of leadership that affect the development of society as a whole. According to the recent survey, Americans were not allowed to possess any property as they were to serve as slaves. There was a conventional constitutional plan that was carried out among the states which later led to creation of economic operations in 18th century. However, after the American Revolution, all Americans were, allowed to own properties and work with equal shares in the companies. They were allowed to create active trade Unions and start a business. With democracy, all the individual will be in be able to enjoy their efforts effectively.
Cultural Factor
With an effective democratic system, the cultural heritage of a particular region will grow tremendously. During the American Revolution, the native culture was not widely practiced. The colonizers enforced their norms and practice to be used as a cultural way. Introduction of constitution convention of 1760s, gave a brighter light to cultural activities enjoyed across the country. The Americans activities such as sports, music, dance, and plays were not encouraged (Smith 2012). This factor, on the other hand, led to the change of customs and practice of the local community. Additionally, this system changed after the American received liberation. Through the Introduction of American laws and rules on cultures, more individuals expressed their lifestyles Introduction of democracy helped in enhancing active cultural activities in the country system. According to current statistics done in United States stated that nearly 90% of the citizens are currently enjoying cultural activities.
Merits of Democracy
There are numerous things that the United States government should deploy concerning freedom. Multiple things happen in our current life because of democracy systems. Democracy affects the people of American s positively, therefore is suitable for all arms of government to implement it effectively. One of the essential factors that freedom contributes is the law enforcement mechanism. Without democracy in society, there would be an increase in conflict among communities in the country. The government, for instance, pays all the policemen money in protection of the citizens in the country. Secondly, democracy brings equality for all in society. All gender, religion, race, and religion are treated equally in the country.
Morals
The moral rights that democracy factor illustrates in the above article is that all people should be treated with love and care in the community. In the United States, for instance, the democratic factor has bridged the relationship between the rich, the poor, knowledgeable, and illiterate individuals in the country (Kallen 2018). All citizens in society will develop ethical behavior due to democracy. In another instance, we find that freedom brings hope to all individuals in the country.
