Introduction
The standardization processes in the healthcare setting are meant to improve quality in the treatment approaches to improve the patient outcomes. Patients often look for excellence care delivery, and therefore, healthcare institutions need to adjust their policies and operational processes to satisfy the needs of the patients. In the modern world, physicians, administrators, as well as nurses, are starting to realize the importance of working together to ensure high-quality care delivery and cost reduction. Standardization and personification can supplement each other.
Standardization is vital in the healthcare facilities because it ensures consistent outcomes in the treatment processes; also, it ensures labor savings for the patients enabling those from the humble backgrounds to afford quality care (Weislearners, 2013). Standardization enhances the medical procedures, including laboratory tests and personal encounter with the physicians; as a result, it leads to the improvement in the quality of care being given to the patients. Alternatively, standardization enhances the reduction in the wastes and improves better documentation of the patient's record and the entire worker's records. Also, it improves patient safety and efficiency in taking care of the patients.
In hospitals and other healthcare settings, payers are essential when it comes to the motivation of standardization. The payers include insurance companies, governmental organizations, sponsors, and even individuals who pay for the medical bills. When medical bills are paid on time, and as per the institutional directions, the healthcare institution finds it more comfortable to implement different standardization processes. When payers make payments on time, it is easier for the organizational management to ensure quality patient outcome through the implementation of the standardized procedures in the treatment mechanisms (Weislearners, 2013). The partnership between the payers and the medical providers offers convenient platforms for the creation of practical solutions for the medical plans and treatment processes. Payers need to take the lead in ensuring transparency and quality of healthcare, as well as the costs to reduce unnecessary spending and improve patient safety. In many cases, patients can assume more proactive roles when addressing patient safety as well as improving healthcare utilization.
From public reporting, the organization is losing its significance, and as a result, the level of health care delivery is deteriorating. Therefore there is the need for the standardization to align some of the policies that may improve the patient outcomes. The process of standardization will lead to the reduction in costs, high-quality care delivery, and satisfaction of the patients and all the stakeholders involved in various activities within an organization. The organization is currently committed to improving quality, and therefore, standardization is the best approach of aligning some of the practices to conform to international and local standards. In the organization, the community is reporting the high costs of healthcare delivery, including treatment processes. Cost is one of the major concerns in the provision of medical services; there has been the existence of conflicts between the medical providers, patients, and insurers. The federal government alone cannot control the costs of medical provisions. Therefore, there is a need for the standardization processes to ensure the demands of the customers as well as the organizational goals.
