Introduction

The police department is one of the critical departments in the United States. The police department works in corroboration with courts and corrections. The key role of the police department is to maintain law and ensure the country is peaceful. The police department is made of three elements: Standard Procedure, Training, and Training command. The essay reviews how these elements: standard procedure, training, and training command, are deployed in the police department.

Standard procedure is a toolkit of operation that guides how police are supposed to engage their activities. Standard procedure acts as a reference for systematic investigation during a case (Lim & Lee, 2015). This concept provides an important way police use to acquire critical information in crime control. The element empowers law enforcement officers to respond to and control of crime in America (Chappelle et al., 2018). This concept has become a critical aspect in the police department are using in ensuring law and order are effectively maintained.

In the police department, training is a critical action that trainees undergo before they are endorsed as officers. During training, police trainees are expected to undertake a course of exercise and diet as a way of preparing them for the work ahead (Lim & Lee, 2015). In most states, training takes a minimum of six months. During training, police trainees are required to learn criminal law, fitness, firearm application, and other activities that are associated with law enforcement. However, training activities highly differ based on departments such as traffic. Normally, the training process is divided into a portion according to crawl, walk, and run philosophy (Chappelle et al., 2018). At these phases, officers are trained to be self-reliant and be able to deal with most of the circumstances they encounter with the available resources. After successful completion of the training program, police officers are assigned in various divisions. However, training is a continuous process; it does not end after the period. Officers are required to keep learning new approaches to improve their ways of fighting against crimes.

Training command is are a set of rules which are deployed by officers during the training program. Training command offers a career progression among police trainees. Through the program, police officers learn skills that assist them in the future when they are endorsed as full police. The department of police believes that training command is a crucial aspect that shapes officers' behaviors and learns how to follow a certain procedure (Lim & Lee, 2015). Furthermore, training command reinforces police officers with skills that improve their growth ability, which will assist in improving their performance in the field. Using the approach, police offers are trained on how to improve their personality so as to be able to perform in various conditions (Chappelle et al., 2018). Police department views the approach as a critical approach in which they use to improve police capabilities. Capabilities improve the way they engage in their responsibilities.

Conclusion

In conclusion, standard procedures, training, training command are critical elements that impact the nature of the police department. Effective application of these elements creates a good ground that shapes the skills and knowledge of police officers. During training, police trainees are required to learn various skills that assist them in handling various issues associated with security. Additionally, training offers police trainees with skills that improve their ability to counter crimes. Training command strength the state at which an officer follows instructions and adopt a certain behavior.
