Introduction
I am a Haitian ethicist, who has been working in healthcare for a more extended period. I have got professional achievements up to PhD level for this task, and in fact, the knowledge that I garnered during my career has helped me in solving some of the tremendous situations. I also got my family who has also assisted me in improving my values and beliefs in my workplace. Ethically, I believe that family has a very vital role to an ethicist; they help in comforting and maintaining one's level of happiness. When you are tired or bored up with occurrences of some activities in the healthcare that never worked out as per your plans, and I am grateful because I blessed with a family of four, I inclusive, two kids ( boy and a girl) and their mother.
I remember one time, I was the administrator in the healthcare, but was so free with my patients, and could share with them a lot in times that they felt better. I met an occasion where a nurse was asking for help with her bills, claiming that the family wishes her death, in a target of the property inheritance which she had just inherited from her husband who died in a car crash. I realized how important my family was because I had to go for consultation to my family elders, and indeed, the patients have remained to be one of my best friends even after her discharge about five years ago.
Being an ethicist can be considered as a call to some extent. There are a lot of challenges that nurses go through while partaking their daily duties in healthcare. In my career as an ethicist, I encountered many patients with different thoughts and preferences. But as I continued with gaining my experience, I learned how to handle several issues, the primary duty being to ensure that at all times, the decisions I made were following the ethical principles of treatments.
After working for four years, I introduced a new idea which was to help me provide even better services to my patents. The healthcare came up with their website during these times, and I realized that I could add a place where every patient would leave a comment during their discharge. Generally, each is allowed to do this individually and advised by the quality assurance team in the healthcare to be honest as possible because their responses would be used to measure for the quality of services that ethicists are offering, and how they could be adjusted. In most cases, patients have been honest, because, I have received very many calls from my patients once they are in their homes, congratulating me and asking me to become their doctors. However, there have been cases where patients fail to recover thus end up losing their lives. Sometimes I have been blamed for this but, its nature, all have assisted me in putting new strategies in the way of my operation
Conclusion
In conclusion, I have, and I am still enjoying my career because I have loved It when people with severe injuries and disorder who have lost hope for their recovery are being taken out of the hospital alive. This has also helped me in building a good rapport with the public domain. I am still looking forward to improving the quality so that in future, I become more successful and get more awards for the same.
