How Do Al Qaeda Operational Methods Compare to Ours?

There are some ways in which the Al Qaeda operational methods compare to ours. First, they have a well-defined military structure composed of three essential units. One of them is the presence of commanders and critical counsel in the top cadre of the organization. In this case, it is the topmost unit tasked with the provision of leadership as well as defining how the whole organization should be conducted. It also acts as a central source of command where all the other units operate as per its specifications. Secondly, it has the soldiers who act as the members, a useful human capital required in the delegation of all the activities by which the organization was created to do. In this case, they receive the necessary teachings and training, of which they are solely responsible for following and adhering to as part of their responsibilities and call of duty. They are the constituent members of the group who have been selected and meets certain conditions, and who have committed themselves to serve the organization by all means to defend its objectives. Finally, there is a strategy used as a path to which the intended courses of actions are to be implemented. In this case, the strategy helps in the implementation of the planned activities, quite successfully, and are weaved in such a way that the enemy will get to be caught unaware. It can thus be seen that the operational methods in the organization if Al Qaeda compares to ours where there is the leading authority, the constituent members as well as the strategic ways in which the planned activities will get executed for successfully.

Also, they have a set of rules governing their operational activities, laced with instructions which should be followed for successful attainment of the projected activities, similar to our own set rules and regulations for disciplined operations. The instructions dictate how various activities should be implemented, such as the communication ways, how to carry out espionage and kidnap. They are similar to our instructions which state how particular undertakings should be performed to gain success in them.

Why Would It Be Difficult for Westerners to Infiltrate Their Organization?

It would be difficult for westerners to infiltrate their organization of the Al Qaeda group because of various reasons. One of them is the secrecy of their activities. I can be seen that their training manual is mandatory to be kept inside a secret place in the room. In this case. It will mean that whatever the members of the group learn are kept as secret as possible, such that there is no evidence of any of their operational activities being exposed to the public. It would therefore also be difficult to trace their operative nature owing to use of mechanism only known to them, making them hard to get infiltrated.

Additionally, as they transact there day to day activities, it can be noted that the group employs very complicated hiding procedures such that it would e hard to get infiltrated. First, their modes and ways of getting transported are quite complicated. They use fake travel documents to hide their identity. Additionally, they avoid sensitive places where there can be security checks which can get them exposed, such as the rod or railway stations. An example can be seen where they board public transport at their middle stages, where they avoid the destinations in which they can be detected leading to exposure.

Additionally, they communicated using the codes with meanings only known to them, hence making it difficult for the westerners to infiltrate them by the use of communication evidence. Whenever they use in person forms of communication, they make a thorough investigation to make sure that no one can establish the nature of their business, while making use of security cover to aid during times of crisis. Hence, such makes it difficult to infiltrate them.

How Would You Rate Their Level of Sophistication? Why?

The level of sophistication of the Al Qaeda movement is very high. It is quite effective and makes most of their missions get successful. It is because of some reasons. One of them is their entire hide of identity in the public spheres. It also has its members cleverly avoiding any sensitive public places where there are the security traps that can overcome their plans, such as airports and road checkpoints. Besides, their communication mechanisms are quite convoluted, making its members only conversant with them, thus adding to their complicated nature. They also employ intricate procedures to execute their malice, such as bombing, kidnapping, information collection, and surveillance, as well as during espionage. Such makes their level of sophistication to be quite high.

Conclusion

There have been investigations to the nature of activities and the organization of the Al Qaeda terrorist group. In this case, it can be noted that the group has been well organized, with its ranks, instructions, codes of communications, convoluted strategy, as effective transportation, and identity hiding techniques. In terms of the internal organization, the group has a central source of command which defines its way of transacting daily activities in the run to the attainment of the group objectives. All the other members of the group are subject to submission to such orders as part of their commitment to objective achievement.

There is also the group member, known as the soldiers. They call themselves brothers. They are used to execute the group's activities in various missions. Finally, there is a strategy mechanism composed of a set of procedures for objective attainment. It can, therefore, be observed that the Al Qaeda group is well defined and operates underground, avoiding any hints that can detriment its existence.
