Interprofessional collaboration in healthcare ensures that many health workers from varying professional backgrounds work together with families, patients, and communities in the delivery of high-quality care. Effective interprofessional collaboration helps in the creation of collaborative cultures, and the improvement of such models between nurses and physicians leads to hospital cuts and decreases the average lengths of stay of the patients. I feel that nursing offers people the chance to make effective differences in other people's lives and establish a career that has excellent prospects of employment. Whatever the role one has, becoming a nurse is rewarding as well as challenging because training gives you practical and technical skills that are needed throughout the career.
Adult nursing is a career that is rewarding to the nurses as they have a real chance of making a difference in the lives of the people who visit the healthcare facilities. A career as an adult nurse will offer me the chance to make a difference and a high flexibility degree. From the beginning of my training to the time I get my first job, I will learn how to observe patients and be able to assess their needs. I will also learn how to plan and deliver the best care for them while evaluating each of their outcomes. As an adult nurse, I will be at the center of teams such as pharmacists, therapists, healthcare assistants, and radiographers.
Child nursing includes the nursing of a sick newborn to adolescents where the nurse is required to consider support and care that is used by the wider family such as parents and carers. The nursing of children will help me understand the way that a healthy child grows as he approaches adulthood, and it will play a major role in minimizing the illness's impacts. Treating children will require me to develop my communication skills and learn how to interpret the children's behaviors and reactions because they cannot be able to express their feelings and pain compared to adults. I will collaborate with professionals such as psychologists, social workers, doctors, newborn hearing screeners, and hospital play staff, which will help improve the level of care delivered to the community.
Learning disability nursing requires that specialists learn how to provide support and healthcare to different people that live with learning disabilities. As a learning disability nurse, I will also be able to help families and teams in healthcare centers live a fulfilling life despite their conditions. The main areas that I will handle as a learning disability nurse include the reduction of barriers that may prevent them from living independent lives, supporting them in their desire to live fulfilling lives, and improving their physical and mental health. I will work with a team of psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and language therapists, and this will help to ensure that I teach my patients the skills they require to find work and relate with others equally.
Mental health nursing is more demanding than most of the other nursing types, but it is a rewarding choice for a career. As a mental health nurse, my main role will be to promote and support the recovery of my patients and enable them to be more involved and committed in the control of their mental conditions. Many of the mental health patients get into such conditions due to events such as divorce, drug use, work loss, birth, or even death of a person close to them.
Conclusion
I will cooperate with social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists in psychiatric intensive care units and wards to ensure that I build effective relationships with the patients that use my services, their carers, and relatives. My work will be diverse as I will easily help one patient take his medication well while offering advice to the other on the best therapies and social activities that can help change their mental conditions. The training I get will play a major role in ensuring that I am easily able to identify whether the people with a mental health condition are at risk of harming themselves or other people.
