Introduction
The occurrences in the early development of a child have consequences through the paths of a child's life. In order to impact the future development of a child, it is highly recommended to intervene at an early stage in a child's life and in a phase which is effective. Early childhood setting plays a vital role in terms of health promotion and well being for children, their families and the community. Therefore, health and wellness promotion goals should be supported by parents, early childhood professionals and staff who use early childhood services. The early childhood setting reflect on how well children view themselves and the world around them. Conversely, young children tend to actively construct meanings about their place in this world and also offer adults alternative understanding.
Physical activity is essential for the well being of children. Being active has been found to promote strength and joints, promotes a healthy frame and builds patience. Children and babies of all ages play often and need places they can play. They also need a variety of entertainment facilities to so as to support the variety of their physical activities. Emotional wellness is another important active condition which entails spiritual, academic, social and environmental wellness. The contentment of basic needs leads to emotional wellness. This may be done through provision of a supportive environment that involves play and singing with children, monitoring them and paying close attention. Social wellness is also an important part in the life of a child as it helps in promoting interdependence with others. Thus children may be in a position to maintain stressful situations effectively and resilience when faced with crisis in life. Lack of social wellness leads to disruptive behaviors and children may not be easily regulated in a social environment.
Ways of Promoting a Healthy Lifestyle for Children and Babies
The school environment plays a vital role in terms of shaping the habits and behaviors of children. The classroom experience is full of different opportunities which integrate both nutritional education and physical activities. Thus, healthy classroom activities ensure there is improvement in behavior and classroom focus. Conversely, physical activities have been found to improve cognitive functioning, achievement and behavior of children in class. Different studies in the category have found that when teachers offer physical activity breaks during classroom, it results to cognitive functions improvement, academic achievement and improvement.
According to the SII class fighting behavior, as a teacher I will may by introducing physical activities breaks during classroom. Children and babies get tired faster in comparison to adults when they have concentrated on something for long periods of time. Due to this, children need breaks between classroom activities so as to refresh their mind and ensure their concentration levels are optimal. I will start by introducing physical activity breaks where children will be allowed to engage in plays or physical activities before they are allowed to continue with class activities. This may help SII and other children enjoy Mark making.
A healthy classroom setting is one which promotes health and wellness as a part of the classroom experience where healthy habits are incorporated in learning. This may include brief physical lessons in class which integrates movement. Nutrition education may be inform of healthy messages that are integrated in different subjects and healthy classroom rewards and celebrations. A few changes may be made to the routines in class to ensure there is reduction of fighting behavior in class. One way of achieving this may be by introducing healthy classroom rewards where each child will be rewarded in an activity they are good at. SII hit a child that was actively participating in Mark making activity after being praised for active participation. Children are gifted in different areas and introduction of a variety of rewards will help to ensure that each child is rewarded in an area he/she is best at and will help reduce incidences of bad behavior but promote healthy well being for each child. Different activities may also be introduced in class routines other than Mark making which may help all children to actively participate. The introduction of different activities may help children to actively participate and in turn will promote a healthy lifestyle. The incorporation of health and wellness in classroom activities and cultures has been found to lead to better attitudes for children and also reduction of emotional outbursts. Children have also been found to be excited about the introduction of different classroom activities and actively participate in the activities.
