After AACN realized the higher rate of infection for the number of individuals with chronic disease in a developed country like the USA, it proposed for the need to add more clinicians who are professionals, equipped the necessary knowledge and capabilities of handling this patient cases in the nursing homes (Reinhard & Hassmiller, 2012). For this reasons, Blegen and three other authors performed research in hospitals having few registered nurses and those having many RNs and found that the mortality rate was lower in the hospitals with a large number of register nurses. World health organizations in collaboration with AACN, have therefore decided that nursing in future, should have many nurses who are fully equipped, with the nursing skills and techniques (Blegen et al., 2013). As a result, the best level of persons who would least understand this are the students taking bachelor courses in the university institutions.

Lastly, one of the previous studies led by Aiken, studied at how, the level of staffing, and most importantly, education influenced the outcome of the final delivery to the patients. The results indicated that nursing homes which had positive job experiences or those who graduated with higher grades performed well while offering attention to their patients, and consequently, the number of mistakes and failures substantially decreased (Aiken et al., 2008). This motivated the willingness by AACN to restrict nursing courses to the bachelor level, with the primary aim of ensuring quality nursing and reduced cases of failures.
