Also, it is expected that more than 45.1% are likely to have cardiovascular diseases with direct medical costs of over $748.7 million (National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, 2018). Due to this, Dash Diet has come in place to help individuals maintain a healthy diet while preventing diseases such as blood pressure and CVD. With Dash Diet, patients can know the importance of healthy meals and recipes. Significantly, patients can control hypertension and cholesterol while maintaining healthy body weight. The paper, therefore, explores the marketing plan for Dash Diet to customers.
Getting Customers
One way to command the attention of consumers is through advertising. With the proliferation of new brands and products, there has been a dramatic increase in the marketer's demand for the attention of consumers. As a result, price rises, especially when demand outpaces supply. Irrespective of the tenfold number of advertisements that have continued to increase in the last few years, DASH Diet has considered some ways of gaining their audience's attention.
A testimonial is one way of advertising that gets the DASH diet audience's attention. Advertising through testimonies, gives consumers a formal statement on the qualification of the brand, including its quality and uniqueness (Cantor, 2011). With authentic testimonial, buyers of the Dash diet can gain the trust of the diet and thus saving them from the extra hassle of the research. Another thing that gets the DASH diet audience's attention is emotion as it triggers a positive feeling towards the products. This is because emotions make an advertisement to be not only persuasive, but also be memorable.
Facebook is one of the social media that DASH Diet often uses to advertise its brand. With Facebook, DASH diet is able to create awareness to a specific audience hence helping them gain trust and originality. By use of testimonials and quality educational content, it makes the whole thing to be memorable to the target consumers (Rouhiainen, 2016). Significantly, it drives traffic that in the end generates more sales to DASH Diet.
Keeping Customers
Unlike their competitors who deal with anti-hypertensive medications, the DASH diet is able to keep their customers at baseline through their effect on people with hypertension. According to the DASH diet, dietary interventions are useful in the management of high blood pressure. Therefore, dietary interventions should be considered as the option of first-line treatment, especially to individuals who are highly at risk. Also, DASH is able to keep their customers as their diet are low in saturated fat, trans fat, and cholesterol. Unlike their competitors who concentrate more on high-fat red meat, sweets, and sugary beverages, Dash Diet emphasizes more on foods that are rich in potassium, calcium, and magnesium as well as fruits and vegetables. Thus, DASH diet keep their customers through ensuring they offer nutritious, safe, and healthy food that enables their customers not only to lose weight but also to control diseases like diabetes and heart diseases.
Growing Customers
DASH Diets can grow their existing customers by introducing physical activities to be part of them. Studies show that physical activity has a significant effect on digestion as it ensures metabolism does not get sluggish (Bacon et al., 2014). Due to this, it enhances cardiovascular function and lowers the risk of heart diseases. To improve their purchases, the DASH Diet should introduce a platform of exercises like Aerobic activities that involve their customers to walk, jog, swim, and even dance. Also, active sports like basketball or tennis are physical activities that the DASH Diet should introduce to ensure that they are not only making more purchases, but also they are maintaining their customers. A study carried out showed that multi-component lifestyle changes (exercises and nutritional diet) protect people from cognitive decline and dementia such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and other blood vessel problems (Cantor, 2011). Therefore, it is significant for the DASH diet to consider physical activities as part of their health improvements on individuals.
