I will talk about my box-faced head. It has some unmistakable roundness to it that I find asymptomatic of my inner self. Being a student is one of the challenging things in the world, especially at this crucial part of the semester. You have to connect ideas from various sources to grow up as a rounded professional. You also have to balance other things in life, such as relationships, finances, and dreams for the future.
I am glancing myself in a mirror before heading out to the class. I have heard nicely and newly redone. I am not just talking about the physical head; I want to do more. Frankly, I think I have a small head-some might disagree. It has been a rough week for me. Yesterday there was a morning class. I am not entirely sure if I got the concepts right, but I hope I did because the continuous assessments are around the corner. I will have to brush over them later in the day just to be sure.
I feel a bit edgy, which is better than what I expect in the coming weeks. Last semester, my head almost exploded. I am usually organized, and I am not particularly eager to rush in the last minutes. I allowed time to run out, and when the exams were closing in, I had several assignments to hand in. I had to prepare for exams, too. I must confess; I am not good at juggling important things under pressure. I prefer it when I have everything under control. At least I feel much changed today, though. At least I can say that the momentum is building at a manageable speed.
This assignment is one of the many that I have to submit over the semester, and I feel that it requires a calm mind for it to come out well. I like to surround this head with nice smells to keep it motivated. Therefore, the hair smells minty, maybe ginger, too. I find the combination refreshingly good for critical thinking. I will need that and much more as the semester progresses into its conclusion.
I have come to find out that a calmer head allows one to enjoy better dreams. One can also see opportunities much vividly with a calmer head. Nothing seems to escape an alert mind. Unfortunately, maintaining such demeanor is proving to be a challenge lately. From my neck, all the way to the forehead, some niggling tiredness keeps me grumpy, and it does not feel great given the circumstances.
My forehead also feels a bit hot, and I am not sure if it is a mild fever, or it is a result of head-scratching. I had done that quite a lot lately, especially today when I was planning for this essay. Now that it will soon be over, it will be a sense of relief-at least I will be one assignment less. At least one more reason to scratch my head will be gone. My already thinning hair at least will be spared.
Nevertheless, as ideas continue to dry up, I feel I might end up scratching it some more. Now that I got myself thinking, I do not know why head-scratching comes so naturally. It is not as if it gets me anywhere, but I still do it. I guess we all do whenever we are in a tight spot.
Conclusion
The emptiness is also loud. Given that I have to absorb in a lot in the semester run in, it could be a good omen. Sadly, I also expect to have plenty of ideas coming from this head if I am to survive unscathed. I am not looking to survive; I want to thrive, which places enormous pressure on all my senses to stay alert.
