Introduction

Coronavirus has been a contemporary problem that has brought the world together in attempts to mitigate its spread. The virus was first discovered in Hubei, China, and it has since spread globally. Covid-19 is rated as an infectious disease that is brought about by acute respiratory syndrome that is severe. As a result of the global infection, Canada has not been anyhow different as thousands of reported cases have been confirmed in the country-approximately 38, 500 (Public Health Agency of Canada, 2020). The Prime Minister of the country, Justin Trudeau, has been very critical in the prevention of the highly infectious disease. Justin was born in the year 1971 and named as Canada's twenty third Prime Minister in the year 2015. Justin is an excellent leader based on how he has responded to the virus outbreak. Besides, his vision of Canada, a place where equality is upheld to ensure success, has earned him great respect from the country people and worldwide (Government of Canada, 2020). This paper, therefore, aims at analyzing Justin's response towards the Covid-19 outbreak.

Justin's response to Covid-19

In front of his home in Ottawa, the Prime Minister of Canada has been providing daily updates regarding Coronavirus. The updates are meaningful as they provide hope and updates regarding the status of the virus. Furthermore, the virus has affected the economy of the world as now, with a country like the United States of America hit hard (McCarten, 2020). In Canada, the government, through Justin, has established an economic plan which should be able to survive the country through the crisis. Firstly, the Canada Emergency Response Benefit was introduced to assist workers whose wages were cut short (Aiello, 2020). New loans and wages subsidy were introduced through this economic plan, which covers seasonal workers, and laborers earning a thousand dollars a month. This category of workers is found in energy-related industries, art, sports ad cultures, among others whose movement has been minimized by Covidd-19.

As much as the employees are covered by the Government of Canada, employers suffer as well due to the closure of a majority of organizations throughout the country. As such, Justin proposed and implemented additional support to organizations in terms of credit and loans (Flanagan, 2020). The loans are very critical during this period as they assist the managers of the struck organization in paying their permanent employees, taxes, and other employees who are vital and cannot be laid off. Such organizations, after survival of the virus and lifting of the operating bans, will be able to bounce back and operate as they did before the outbreak of the virus in the country. Thirdly, the community is affected as well and need assistance. In response to that, Justin approved the requests that were made by community leaders of offering support to treatment centers that were flooding with Covid-19 patients (Maclean, 2020). For instance, the Canadian Armed Forces were deployed in the Long-term care facilities of Quebec and Basse-Cote-Nord of Nunavik.

The success of mitigating the Covid-19 virus is dependent on the efficiency of health care facilities and the corporation of citizens by staying at home and exercising social distancing. In light of the former, Justin provided 100 million dollars through the Treasury Ministry of the country to offer assistance to public health facilities (McCarten, 2020). The support was provided by enhancing surveillance, increasing preparedness in Inuit communities, and National Microbiology Laboratory testing.

Response Evaluation

According to Trudeau, the emergency plan that has been previously discussed has been very handy in curbing the spread of the virus. The most affected people have been compensated and taken care of by the plan, which, therefore, makes them obey the social distancing laws enacted and stay at home. As a result, it has been reported that numbers are right regarding the mitigation of the disease, and if the measures are enforced, the virus can be contained within short periods. Communication of this plan is beneficial, as it should ensure that every single citizen in the country is aware of the status of the country. As a result, Justin, the Prime Minister, conveys daily meetings, as mentioned previously, at his homestead, where the meeting is aired through all media platforms in the country (Maclean, 2020). The latter ensures that both young adults and adults receive the information clearly and act as per the guidelines provided by the country. The Prime Minister uses French and English to address the nation, which is widely spoken in the country. As a result, the intended message is always understood by Canadians, and hence follow his directives to the letter.

Despite the continued success that has been experienced in Canada as a result of the measures applied by Justin Trudeau, a lot still needs to be done. When compared to China, several lessons can be learned about curbing the spread of the virus. Canada has been more oriented towards reducing the economic impact that the virus imposes on the country's economy than the impact on people. Borrowing from China, "the one size fits all" model should be abandoned, and laws formulated according to the impact of the virus on different localities in the country (Wu, Dean & Xu, 2019). For example, the leaders of Hangzhou in China mitigated the virus even before a new case was established by using big data and information technology. Besides, to reduce the number of financial resources offered to employees, several organizations should be reopened based on priority, once the number of reported cases stabilize in the country.

Leadership Ideologies Applied by Justin Trudeau

Several leadership ideologies can be seen to be applied by Canada's leader. For instance, the formation of a brilliant team is crucial in every organization and country. Trudeau performs the latter ideology well by building a strong team that helped him campaign widely, and which is also very relevant in mitigating the virus impact on his country people. The team is comprised of advisors who advise him accordingly by providing an array of solutions to different issues that are experienced in the country (Flanagan, 2020). As such, informed decisions are usually made by the Prime Minister, which will significantly aid in Covid-19 abolishment. Other leaders should adopt this ideology and make brilliant teams that would aid them in leading successfully.

Secondly, rewriting the leadership resume is an ideology that can be borrowed from Justin (Seth, 2016). The latter was a teacher, and when elected for Prime Minister, he redefined the country's leadership stature by enacting fifty percent of his cabinet as women. People from different races were also elected, which championed his mantra of bringing equality in Canada, to ensure that opportunities were distributed justly and equally to the citizens of Canada. Leaders should foster equality, and they should abolish discrimination to ensure that they are successful. Modern leaders can borrow this from Justin Trudeau to lead their countries and organizations to success, unity, and living in harmony.

Conclusion

It is indeed true that Justin Trudeau is a great leader who Canada expects to have right now, and other countries around the world. Continued daily updates and action plans are to be stipulated if the fight against Covid-19 is to be won by Canada or any other country worldwide. Joint efforts between countries should be advocated by putting aside all the differences present in modern-day. The latter will ensure that advancements and experiences are shared worldwide, which would lead to the development of a vaccine that would abolish the existence of the disease once and for all. Learning from others provides a significant number of options that can be used in curbing this deadly virus. In doing this, scientists will have vast knowledge about the virus, hence be able to formulate a vaccine or cure for it.
