I have had an interest in health-related fields since I was in my teenage years due to my mother's career as a nurse. I used to watch her while at work, and the idea of helping people fascinated me, however, I had no particular field specialty in mind. Upon joining college, I enrolled in a psychology class, and it evoked much interest in me. My family was a usual dysfunctional one. My father, an intellectual, orthopedic surgeon, owned a hospital in Japan. I grew up in a well-off family. However, my mother, my siblings, and I did not have the peace and comfort we would have loved. My father was always away, but upon his return, he was both verbally and physically abusive. My mother was compliant and submissive to him. I blame his actions on his childhood, and I assumed he suffered from APD.

My sister was the adored child in the family since she was bright and always scored the highest in her class. However, my dad never complimented her. He always wanted to know why she did not score higher than that. She was, however, mature enough to understand my father's situation and continued getting good grades and being the ideal child to both my mother and father. She was, however, the second patient in 1980 to be diagnosed with anorexia. My sister had developed an eating disorder. She did not feel enough and, as a result, started starving herself. She did not take a balanced diet; instead, she took low-calorie diets to have a slim body. I knew about it and had told my mother about it. She was, however, too occupied by her problems to do anything.

My sister was traumatized, and that was the reason for her eating disorder. She had the lowest weight ever recorded in Japan for an anorexic patient. She almost died. The doctors assigned to her even studied, analyzed, and recorded her case. Her condition was attributed to the dysfunctionality in our family. My father's abusive behavior had affected her mentally, and his constant inability to compliment her at any instance also led to her doubting herself, and eventually, she had low self-esteem. Seeing my sister in a near-death situation made me want to pursue a career that would enable me to help people before their situation got to my sister's level.

The second reason for my interest in clinical psychology was seeing my brother suffer from schizoaffective disorder. All which I attribute to our childhood and the environment we grew up in. I am sure that non-genetically hereditary mental disorders comprising of schizophrenia are avoidable when first signs of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Trauma are identified and with adequate counselings and prompt interventional therapy.

I would love to pursue a master's degree in clinical psychology in your university so that I can expand my knowledge about the diverse areas in psychology such as cognitive psychology, educational psychology, Statistics, and Research Methodology. I also want to discover new methods of therapy to save people, particularly children, youth, and women from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety, depression, and trauma instigated by mistreatment, negligence, and assaults. I want to gain a more profound comprehension of how to carry out research the variety of approaches in it as well as the role it plays in psychology; since it provides scientific confirmation on the new perceptions of psychology, psychological philosophies, and elements that affect mental health.

In my undergraduate studies, I started with a major in Business Administration, which I later dropped for Human services that I pursued at Franklin Pierce University. The psychology major was my preference, but the university did not offer the Major at the time. Moreover, my financial status did not allow me a variety of universities to choose from. I, therefore, pursued the course closest to what I wanted, Human Services, to pursue a Master's in forensic psychology afterward because my career goal was to become a profiler. I read books such as "High risk" written by Dr. Ken Magid and Carole A. McKelvey, which acted as eye-openers to me. I understood how the human brain works in cases of antisocial personality disorder. I aim at offering therapy to victims of dysfunctional families and women in abusive marriages and relationships. I would not want anyone to undergo what my mother, my siblings, and I went through. I would love women to know that they do not have to tolerate their abusive partners and that they always have a safe place in therapy. Most victims of abusive marriages stay with their partners because they are their sole providers. However, people need to be enlightened about peace of mind and happiness, and I think Therapists always play an essential role in that. That is why Clinical Psychology is my right field.

During my undergraduate studies, I pursued human services and majored in Domestic Violence psychology and criminal psychology. I experienced a violent relationship, so I need to learn how to heal people in situations such as mine. Both the educational learning and personal experiences have helped shape me, and at the moment, I understand my parents better, and I can see clearly why they acted the way they did.

Conclusion

Once I complete my Master's program, I intend to join a Doctoral program in the same course and eventually practice clinical psychology so that I can influence people with mental disorders positively. My characteristics are impeccably adjustable to this occupation, and I am exceptionally involved in this field. Furthermore, my educational accomplishments show my competency to reach the objective of being a clinical psychologist. Research work is a unit within clinical psychology. I am very interested in. I would love to join your university for my master's course in Clinical Psychology. I would be very thrilled to join the forthcoming class of 2020. I feel I am well equipped to start graduate studies, and my healthy inspiration and professional objectives are an excellent counterpart for what the university provides.
