A lot of issues often face the development of a child as their minds try to adjust and make meaning of everything occurring in their environment. Developmental psychology entails all the physical, social, and cognitive development (Blake, 2015). The changes occurring in mind are capable of causing behavioral changes that most parents might be aware of, and this might cause a lot of worries in patients. Most psychological changes are also capable of causing developmental pathologies and might not require therapeutic solutions but need to be tackled through psychological solutions.
In his psychoanalytic theory, Sigmund states that personality is mainly developed through interactions of three aspects of the human mind (Dreher, 2018). The three fundamental structures include the id, ego, and superego. During a child's development, these three are always in conflict to ding a balance. Depending on which of the three structures dominates the others will determine the type of personality in the child. Charlie's inability to make friends might be because of His character. Since nature is crucial in the initiation and formation of friendships, it might make it harder for children who are not outgoing to make friends easily (Dreher, 2018). However, this does not mean that the child will not have friends in the future. Friend-making skills are socially developed and are mastered within time.
Conclusion
A child’s minds keep records of activities they find most interesting and will always drift towards those captivating areas and moments. It is still a struggle between the conscious and the subconscious mind (Nitulescu, 2016). Charlie's poor concentration might be because he does not like a history class. A thorough investigation with Charlie proves that he prefers to be out for P.E than sitting in class. Therefore, special attention has to be channeled towards capturing Charlie’s attention in class during the history lesson. The use of songs and other games in the classroom will possibly make him interested in the lessons. Physical exercise sessions should also be placed between classes to allow him has breaks, which will significantly facilitate his therapy. Even though most parents force to be given prescriptions whenever they feel their children are not okay, but it is essential to accept the physician's guidance. It is also important to note that medicines are not the only solutions for all diseases.
