Practice
The nursing practice involves the use of evidence-based practices to offer person-centered services and to make the right decisions that are in line with their training and the knowledge they have. A nurse is also expected to respect all cultural and personal differences that are associated with their patients. Meeting the standard requires intentional efforts to ensure that all parts of the standard are met. For example, I ensure that I have the right qualifications as per the law and that all my certifications are valid. Compliance with legislation, common law, and other guidelines help me achieve my nursing goals. I also participate in collaborative practices and use ethical frameworks that are in line with the nursing profession. The first evidence is the presence of different certificates from the places of work and the evidence of knowledge and experience in first aid work. The other evidence is that during the time I have been in practice, I have not been engaged in any unethical practices and this is why I have the clearance from the police. During my eight years of work experience in Saudi Arabia, I have achieved many goals and this shows my ability to meet the requirements of this standard.
Engages in therapeutic and professional relationships
The nursing profession is critical due to the nature of the work it involves. High ethical standards are required to meet the needs of society and retain a good relationship between the nurses and the patients. The standard is an explanation of how these professional standards can be maintained and how the needs of the patients can be met effectively. In meeting this standard, I have ensured that all my operations are within the parameters of the nursing practices and that I do not violate the rules of engagement. I also ensure that all my encounters are guided by the requirements of the patients and that I use effective communication to pass the required messages. I also support other people in my working environment and I foster a culture of learning and educating the people near me. The evidence that supports this claim is that there are many times that I have worked in Saudi Arabia and I have also engaged people in Australia who have different cultural backgrounds and who are from different backgrounds. All along, I have used ethical principles that guide my actions and protect me from hurting them. My relationship with the colleagues and patients have been professional and I have participated in activities like first aid training to engage people from different scenarios.
Maintains the capability for practice
The third standard is about personal responsibility to ensure that the nurse is in good health and assisting others in making decisions. It states that a nurse should ensure they are in good health and their colleagues are also in good health. It also requires them to engage in personal development processes. In my efforts to meet the standard, I have enrolled in several personal development programs that will increase my ability to serve the patients effectively. I have also participated in ensuring that my colleagues are in good condition and can perform as expected. The evidence given in this standard is that I have actively been engaged in the profession and I have used my time to research on ways of meeting my professional duties effectively. For example, the clinical practice placement and my mental health training are some of the efforts I have made for my personal development.
Comprehensively conducts Assessments
Nurses are expected to analyze the data about the patients and make communication about the state of their clients and how they can be assisted. They are expected to make decisions and references that are acceptable in the cultural background they operate in. They are also required to use the available resources and make informed decisions. In my efforts to meet this standard, I have listened to patients attentively and asked the right and relevant questions to enable m to meet their needs. I have also noted and communicated the changes in the patients and how to manage them. The evidence that supports the compliance to this standard includes the use of the right assessment tools during my professional work for the eight years I worked in Saudi Arabia. For example, when working in Najran General Hospital, I used this standard to ensure that all my work was as per the guidelines of the nursing profession.
Develops a plan for nursing practice
Registered nurses are expected to communicate and plan for their practices. The standard stipulates that there should be a comprehensive sharing of information. To comply with this standard, I have been planning and this helps me communicate my plans on time. For example, after my time in Australia, I plan to return to Saudi Arabia and complete my course as well as work in the local hospitals. The evidence is that I have certificates that show my excellence in my work and these are from recognized institutions in Saudi Arabia.
Provides safe, appropriate and responsive quality nursing practice
The standard requires nurses to offer high-quality services that are guided by ethical procedures and lead to the expected outcomes. It also requires the follow up of the safety guidelines provided. To meet this standard, I have always ensured that y operations are safe and of high quality. In my previous duties, there have been no complaints and it is evident that I have always followed the right procedures. The evidence with this regard is seen in my excellence in my duties as a nurse and the dedication I have in ensuring high-quality services. For example, knowing provision of CPR and sterilization procedures helps achieve the requirements of this standard.
Evaluates outcomes to inform nursing Practice
The standard explains that a nurse should revise the practices to meet the goals of the treatment processes and also use their knowledge to change any procedures that do not give the expected outcomes. The commitment I have on the skills and training programs helps me met this standard effectively. The evidence that supports this information is that I have not been involved in any erroneous practice in my eight years of work. I have also helped my colleagues make changes to the processes we use in hospitals.
