In the USA, many individuals are suffering from greater health disparities as compared to others. One of the reasons that cause disparities in the health status differences that exist across population segments. Other factors that bring about inequality in individuals' health include inadequate housing and unemployment, which brings about poverty, poor infrastructure, violence among individuals, and even some policies. The current paper is a personal reflection showing how I have demonstrated commitment and experience in promoting and advancing health equity.

One of the ways that I have assisted in promoting health equity is by creating a suitable environment for care. The importance of creating a suitable environment is that it maintains caring relationships, and also sustains a good relationship with society. In the past, I participated in the event that was called Love Houston. The creation of the event was to help clean up the streets of Houston, which hosted unprivileged neighborhoods. Our duties as the volunteers included picking up all the trash found along the streets. Our main aim was to ensure that the community becomes healthy. By so doing, I participated in creating health equity since cleanliness is a primary contributor to individuals' good health. Therefore, we demonstrated that all streets should be cleaned, thereby promoting health equity.

My partnership with others has also helped in the promotion of health equity in society. Through the partnerships, we have planned on the interventions that we can make to promote health equality. For instance, I partnered with the National Society of Black Engineers in a walk event. The event's primary goal is to increase awareness of the black communities on the education opportunities available. By so doing, we were able to make the black community feel equal to others. I also partnered in an event with the LSU community bound. The event is hosted every year, and it aims to help impoverished communities in the Baton Rouge area. By partnering with the above organizations in the events, we helped the lowly communities realize that they have a voice, and they are being seen and heard by others. We helped them realize that they deserve the same opportunities, services, and resources, just like the privileged.

Additionally, I can efficiently work with anyone. This skill has helped me collaborate with my workmates in all the places that I have worked. Together with them, we have assisted in the promotion of health equality. For instance, while working at the Ochsner Hospital in the emergency department, my task was to assist the physicians with the patient records. I practiced equality by making sure that all patient files were handled equally with no discrimination.

Everyone deserves an equal opportunity when it comes to health Services. The removal of obstacles, such as poverty and discrimination, assists in health equality. Through the above ways, I have assisted in the promotion of health equality. If I am accepted into this program, I will not only contribute to the diversity and inclusion of Morehouse, but I will also continue promoting health equity.
