Assignment four: Eating Habits
According to Joshi (2015), eating habits can be defined as how and why different people for defend places eat, what type of food they are into and with who exactly they are eating with. Eating habit also comprises of the people who obtain the food that different kind of individuals eat, what kind of people store them and which people are involved in the discarding process of these foods. Inflight of this eating habits are majorly affected by individual, social, religion, cultural, environmental and economic factors. To examine further on the issue of eating habits, this section will examine two factors which section will examine two factors which affect individual eating habits that are: people and environment.
Eating habits can really change depending on the type of environment and the type of people that are around you. When I am home during the holidays, my eating habits are totally different from when I am in school. At home, we are used to eating and having all the meals together. Especially dinner is family time. We have to be all around when it is being served. This is normally done at around 9 pm. This trend has, however, changed since I joined the school. I don't remember the last time I maintained my dinner at 9 PM.
Again, what exactly does one eat in school? What happens to the freshly cooked food that I could enjoy every time I am at home during the holiday? All that now lives with me as memory, I no longer tackle freshly prepared food. Well, my friend too, in anything I found them doing the same thing.
Apart from the eating habit, my exercise routine has been affected by a friend as well. I barely have a routine anymore. When I was with the family at home, I could keep a routine and remain loyal to it. Unfortunately, this is not possible with the type of friends that I have (see my life). I have friends who won't allow me to exercise any time on Friday afternoon, I guess this makes it routine.
Another aspect which seems to be affecting how I eat regularly is when I am watching TV or not. Watching TV makes such slow eater. I remember when I was young my parents could literally put off the TV so that I could concentrate on eating. I guess they were right because whenever the TV is put off, my speed towards eating suddenly changes, I tend to now concentrate a lot on my food that when it was on.

Obesity is not just about food: Carol Glazer in this book brings to light the fact that as much as pundits and politician will normally associate the issue of obesity with food, this health crisis seems to go beyond that. The major part of the problem could be brought by the fact majority of the children tend to be having very few options after school to do anything productive with their lives rather than just to sit before TV and also hung out on the neighborhoods. As such the writer at this point seems to be pointing figures at the parents an in the laws that are placed in placed by the government on the issue of obesity.
